My children went there for the 23-24 school year. Kindergarten and 2nd.They were exhausted, homework every night even for kinder, my son was bullied and it wasn’t taken care of, in return he started to fight these kids.I requested an evaluation for a 504 for my son’s ADHD, it took them the ENTIRETY of the school year to get him formally tested, after I had already requested it in the first month of school. It was not put into place and filed until the LAST month of the school year. As any parent of a 504 child would know, he suffered because of this, tremendously.His test scores, homework, self esteem, everything.Now the next school year, (at different school because I pulled them out due to all the reasons above), I requested his 504 plan, eval and scores be forwarded to his new school. It’s now 45 days after the start of the school year and STILL NOTHING. Their new principal had to call and request it themselves because they failed to provide it to me, the new school counselor or any other requests made.In my experience with this school; they do not care about each individual student. They care about test scores and nothing more. Especially if they have adhd and “disrupt” their class.Teachers aren’t being paid appropriately and have a HUGE turnover rate, staff changed at least 3 times just in one school year. And classes are up to 30-35 kids each and any teacher can tell you, that’s too much for one person. As a result, children and their needs fall through the cracks and if you don’t fight for your child, they will be lost in this charters system.

Basis Benbrook is an incredible education. The biggest challenge is for the student to keep up with the pace and challenging environment. Parents will need to be involved to make sure they don’t fall behind.
