The school went through a tough year of transition last year, but we couldn’t be more excited about the direction the school is headed! We would recommend to any family looking for a loving, tight knit community for their kids. We’re impressed by the individual attention our children receive, whether it be that they are excelling in a certain area or needing additional help.

We have been members of the school for several years and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a private education for their children.

I cannot recommend St. Matthew School highly enough to families seeking a nurturing and supportive educational environment for their children. As a proud mother of two students at the school and a military wife, I have had the privilege of being part of the St. Matthew community for seven years. The dedication and care shown by the principal, staff, and teachers at St. Matthew truly set it apart from other schools.Despite facing challenges such as the impact of Covid-19, St. Matthew School has emerged stronger than ever, with a renewed focus on the individual needs and unique qualities of each student. The school's commitment to providing personalized attention and support has helped my children reach their full potential and excel academically and personally.Safety is a top priority at St. Matthew School, and I have always felt confident that my children are in good hands. The open communication channels between the school and families further enhance the overall experience and ensure that every child is supported in their academic and personal growth journey. The academic curriculum at St. Matthew School is comprehensive and challenging, preparing students for future success while also fostering a love for learning. The small class sizes allow for individualized instruction and a sense of community that is truly special.I have seen firsthand the positive impact that St. Matthew School has had on my children's development, and I am grateful for the caring and supportive environment that the school provides. I wholeheartedly recommend St. Matthew School to any parent looking for a top-quality educational experience for their child. I am confident that my children will continue to thrive and succeed under the excellent guidance of the staff at St. Matthew School.

All four of my children attended this school and they are now very successful adults: a Professor; an Actuary; a Cardiac Nurse with a Master's in Hospital Administration; and Computer Marketer. The school is unique in knowing and engaging individuals.

I am sorry to hear some past responses but as a current family we are nothing but pleased and actually so happy with the small classes as the kids get a bit older. I would tend to believe I would rather have a my child be one of 10 instead of one of 30. So far the focus on the needs of my child has been awesome. So happy the toxicity must be gone cause what a sweet little community to be apart of!

I have read some of the other reviews and I'm very disappointed in some of the statements made towards the school staff and the school itself. Misinformation is worse than no information. One of the statements -"It was relayed to parents through a tumultuous back and forth with Principal and Priest and the parents that the school improvements to windows and doors would NOT happen. Stating time and time again, that the funds secured were reimbursable - and not in hand, therefore they did not have the budget to complete them." FACT - the previous principal worked diligently in filling out special NEMA forms and submittals to procure limited funding for new windows and doors for Pod #1 and part of Pod #2. Issues with the existing radiators required the Parish to provide additional funding to cover the excess cost of radiator repairs. Another statement really amazed me - "As a supporter of women's rights, this school was not a good fit for my family." FACT - Why would you enroll your child in a school that wasn't a good fit for our family. This individual also stated -"Also, in addition to tuition, parents are expected to donate an absurd amount of money to the school (to pay for the new church?) as well as volunteer hours." FACT - If this individual had read the Parent's Handbook, they would have fully understood the additional obligations of private education. The Parish subsidizes tuition and ZERO DOLLARS of tuition funds the church. The last statement I'll mention - "This school has been in trouble since hiring their new principal. This past year they closed their middle school because of low enrollment. I worry about the future of this school." FACT - the middle school was temporarily closed because of the inability to hire new teachers for those positions after teachers either resigned or retired. Don't worry about the future of this school, as it is moving forward through specific strategic plans to build for the future. St. Matthew Catholic School is affiliated with the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and is accredited by the State of Nebraska. All present teachers and staff have all the required credentials to perform their required teaching duties and responsibilities. The school has a secure facility with buzz-in entry through one (1) door only during school hours along with trained security patrols. For a great Catholic education for your children, visit the St. Matthew Catholic School site and make your own decision.

Previously great school with current poor leadership. School previously had wonderful teachers, with very few remaining for the incoming school year (2024-2025). I have no ability to speak to the new teachers. Leadership of the school in the previous year was unwilling to provide accurate information on school improvement funds that were previously secured. It was relayed to parents through a tumultuous back and forth with Principal and Priest and the parents that the school improvements to windows and doors would NOT happen. Stating time and time again, that the funds secured were reimbursable - and not in hand, therefore they did not have the budget to complete them. From residing in the area, it appears they decided to proceed with these updates. This issue coupled with the fact that 70% of teachers were leaving (with allegations of a hostile work environment due to a new principal), lead many parents to pursue other schools for the upcoming year. The student body in 2023-2024 was approximately 194 students. Niche.com shows the new student body count to be 87. While I hope the school can recover and learn lessons from the past year, I do also believe parents should be aware of the leadership issues at hand.

As a supporter of women's rights, this school was not a good fit for my family. The "Run for Life" club with the Friday protests made me embarrassed to drop my child off. Even worse, my pre-school child came home asking to donate to a baby shower for a family that "chose life" which is completely inappropriate at that age. I was warned of the anti-choice rhetoric being shoved down preschooler and kindergartners' throats but I did not think it would be as bad as it was. Also, in addition to tuition, parents are expected to donate an absurd amount of money to the school (to pay for the new church?) as well as volunteer hours.

I'd like to call attention to a peculiar fact: there seems to be an unusually large number of reviews all dated about February 12-13 2015. Pretty crazy, huh? Speaking as a former St. Matthew student, I can tell you that around that time, the principal offered every student five bonus points if their parents wrote a five star review on this website. Now, I'm not sure if there's a specific term for this creative image-boosting technique, but I think some people call it "bribery". Anyways, the school itself is not very good and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend it to anyone.

Good teachers, average level of education taught. I would look elsewhere for middle school classes. The middle school level does not challenge some students enough or prepare them for the rigors of private, Catholic high school.

Our family loves St. Matthew School. It is a warm and inviting community where our children are getting a great parochial school education. The class sizes are small. We know each of our children's classmates as well as the parents. We have been very pleased with each of the teachers. We moved here a few years ago and feel we made the right decision in choosing this school. We would highly recommend the school to other families.

We have been very happy with sending our daughter to St. Matthew. This is her second year here and we absolutely love her PK teacher, Mrs. White. I love the fact that this is a small school, where everyone knows my child's name. It is worth paying for private school, knowing your child is safe and well educated.

Dedicated professionals who care about the educational, spiritual and overall development of each student. You would be hard pressed to find a school that cares more about their students.

So far so good! My son is in pre-school and we absolutely love it! He has learned so much already and is already doing more than most of the kids we know at other schools who are in first grade! Love his teacher Mrs. White, she is the perfect match for pre-k students, she's got great energy and seems to really love the kids as if they were her own! I am really looking forward to my child's future at St. Matthew!

This place is awesome! The teachers and administration are always responsive to any concerns we may have...which are very few. My children have been enrolled since first grade and we could not have picked a better school! I highly recommend St. Matt's.

St. Matthew's is easily the best school in Bellevue. Nebraska schools are good, but as a family that moves a lot I send my children to Catholic schools because I can guarantee a solid educational standard. The classes are a lot smaller than the public schools and the curriculum is leagues ahead in terms of level and professionalism.

Love St. Matthew School! Your child will receive an awesome education in a very warm family like environment. For the past 10 years, every 8th grade class has had a scholarship winners. These scholarships are given by various Catholic High Schools and awarded based on the placement test results. It is a proven fact that your child will be prepared for high school after attending St. Matthew. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a small school that's BIG on education!

Great kids, parents, staff and administrations. We have been extremely happy. My children went on to be honor students in high school and college.
