The busing is horrible and when you complain to their coordinator they ignore you. They don’t handle situations properly regarding the teachers and the parents. You have to complain about your child receiving homework depending on what teacher they get. You have to complain to the coordinator about getting in touch with the facilitator’s that are working with your child. Nobody reaches out until the I.E.P needs to be reevaluated. When I first let my son attend I felt promise and success. But they just hire anybody as a first time teacher and I don’t think who they hire really is geared towards supporting your child’s endeavors. I think it’s more about a check. I noticed when you start digging and asking real solid information they try and silence you. They only tell you what they want you to hear. And their main focus is supporting there own agendas.

Ok so, I literally went to this school.I'm honestly gonna say that its not the worst thing in the world. Its good for the experience and friendship making. Learning is also kinda there but barely. I did end up in a really good high school so that is a plus from the education part on my account. I can't say the same for other kids. I don't really remember much because my memory is kinda bad. A few of the teachers are amazing and fun. Easy to talk to or just fun in general. There is this math teacher that joined my last year and I wish I had her for longer. Social emotional support is something I can't really get into since I never seen it. Special education is the same way. Safety...ok. Safety is pretty good, I'm not going to lie. The security do their job. If you don't get involved with any drama or one with the male population that are naturally aggressive then your not going to get caught in a fight. Its probably different now but there use to be a time where fights happened once or twice every month. There was a whole era where there was drama everywhere in the 7th grade. I can assure you that the kids who were the main problem are NO LONGER IN THE SCHOOL BUILDING. I'm 90% sure that there are barely any fights anymore. If your not in the grades 7-8 (sometimes 6th) you're very safe from fights, period. Honestly, Even with all that fighting in my time people still would talk to each other and hang out. Things got resolved people move on, maybe they stopped talking to each other. Just don't become the public enemy by being a weirdo and people wouldn't have much trouble talking to you. Food is ok, thanks to Michelle Obama its probably bad now. I wouldn't know I don't go there anymore. They try to interact with family a lot. So they have a 5 star family interaction.Homework can be a lot sometimes. I was considered one of the "gifted" kids then so I can't really say. I wouldn't really say I'm gifted too since I am a big procrastinator. I still passed with honor roll though. Its required that you get a monitor job, if they still do that stuff. Its 100% worth it!!You're going to have very fun events. Most event are super fun! Multicultural day is a top tier event at this school. Probably the best in my opinion. Its a somewhat slow start and kinda stressful to get your hallway ready but its a great benefit. If you make friends and talk to the right people I can guarantee that your going to have fun there. Your also going to see interesting thing

For the most partt, I'm satisfied with my children's education at PS/IS 208Q. Everyday the teachers engage and challenge the students to reach their full potential. I must say there are two areas where this school needs serious improvement. They need a vibrant music program( both chorus and instrumental). Also, they only offer Spanish that meets once a week. When they rectify those areas, they will truly become an awesome place where kids can learn. By far this school is the best school in district 29!!!

The teachers, administration and school security take an active interest in educating the children. Upon walking building, you can observe that the students are engaged and motivated. The walls show numerous examples of quality student reports, projects and assignments. Children with special needs receive services in accordance with IEPs. PTA meetings are informative, parent-teacher conferences are overwhelmingly attended and there is open communication about the student's progress. Homework help and after-school enrichment in sports/arts are offered as well as parent training.

I would rate this school at a zero. Not friendly and welcoming to parents and new students. The majority of staff is unfriendly and does not do well at assuring you of your child's safety and well being. Unorganized in every aspect from academics to after school. Horrible place to start your child's education. Perhaps the school was great when it first opened, but that is far from the case now.
