The teachers and Principal Mat are some of the kindest teachers we've had. The school is smaller (compared to our previous school), but the teachers diligently work to make learning fun and are always planning fun and engaging activities. We have been really impressed with the quality of education and opportunities available to our children, especially amidst the pandemic.

To be completely honest, my husband and I were planning on moving away from Belgrade before our daughter turned 5 because Belgrade schools get a bad wrap. A friend who has worked in K-12 for 25+ years laughed when I told her this and said that students who attend MSU for an education degree, fall in love with the Gallatin Valley, so all of the schools here, Belgrade included, get the cream of the crop. She told me if anything, some of the Belgrade schools offer more opportunities and sometimes get specialized funding that the Bozeman schools do not qualify for because of population size and median income. We ended up staying put and I'm so happy that we did! Ridge View has been an absolutely amazing school with quality teaching faculty! Many of my friends both from the Gallatin Valley and elsewhere in the United States are always shocked at what my daughter is learning, stating that their children were not exposed to such programs/ lessons either at all, or until a latter grade. My daughter and her friends are all smart cookies and classmates who are struggling are given the attention they need, similar to the classmates are excelling who also require special attention/direction. We actually had the opportunity to move and our one qualifying factor was that my daughter gets to stay at Ridge View because the education is just spectacular there. It was difficult to find a place outside of River Rock that was still in the Ridge View boundaries, but we did (technically a Bozeman address now). I'm so impressed with this school and its administration!

Honestly, i had no idea how bad our old school was until i put my kids in Ridgeview! Every single one of my children has flourished here. The staff is so supportive and attentive. They actually pay attention to what is going on with the kids. My daughter has always just gotten by in math, when she started here her teacher noticed that she has just scrapping by, and she got support for that unit until she could do it almost with her eyes closed! Same thing with my other two children. It is truly amazing the difference a supportive and nurturing school can make. The staff, all the way up the chain to the principal, are all wonderful, my oldest is headed to middle school and was so sad that she didn't get more time at RIdgeview.

My family loves this school! Ridge View has a beautiful campus. The teachers are excellent and seem to work extremely hard to ensure the children's experience is a positive one. My daughter has actually expressed disappointed when the weekend comes and she doesn't get to go to school! I did not have any experiences with the principal mentioned in the previous reviews, but I can say that the new principal (Mr. Johnston) has been a pleasure! He seems to genuinely care for his students and staff. He encourages suggestions and has always taken time out of his day to address my concerns when I call or stop in.

I agree 100% with the previous Nov 2010 reviewer who said the teachers are great, but does not know how the principal obtained his job. There is absolutely no leadership from him. If it wasn't for the shoddy principal, I would give this school 5 stars. The teachers go above and beyond to help our kids succeed. They are excellent. The principal is waiting out his tenure until retirement. And this school is K-3, not K-4.

Ridgeview is a great school with great teachers. My son loves going to school and the entire staff is dedicated to the children. Love this place!!

Love this school! The teachers are amazing and they really care about the kids. The PTC is very active and so is the principal. I soon will have 3 kids in this school and would not send them there if I did not think they were amazing.

My son attends this school and every teacher I have met is AWESOME! They picked up that he needed Speech Therapy, and they got him in the program and it is already helping. I love that they do the "walk to read" program so they group the kids according to their needs. The principal is hands-on and is great. He knows my child by name and he is often in the classroom checking on things. There is many aids, and they have many programs to help the children that need extra help like my son. This is a great school.

I would rate this school lower except I do like the teachers. I am not sure how the principal got the job. I have a disabled child as well whose needs have not been met and had to fight the school. The teachers are great, but do not have the backing of the district and I feel bad for them Its definitely left up to the parents and the teachers.
