- Submitted by parent on June 12, 2014Belgrade High school is too focused on sports and not enough on academics. My son hardly tried all year and still managed to get As in his classes. He is smart but not smart enough that he does not have to study or try. I feel like it is setting him up to fail. I was truly disappointed when I called to speak with the counselor as well, they were no help and said he will be placed in classes automatically. Even though I tired to explain that he was not learning anything new she did not seemed concerned. Also, I had to fight to get the schedule my son needed. Every year it is the same thing, they put kids in classes that they did not request or have already taken. If a parent does not pay attention your child could graduate with inadequate credits for college. If we could afford it we would move to Bozeman.
