I enjoyed going here cause i met a lot of new friends but I feel that they don't always challenge me academically and that there are major behavioral problems here. I believe for the behavior of the students the teachers and principal are doing all that they can but the parents aren't trying to actually discipline their child because there were always disruption in the classroom. So I would suggest going to a different school until the parents in that area start doing something about their kids.

My child came from Glendale School, and loved the school. I never had any problems. I heard some things about Carylwood, but worst about Columbus School. So I decided to send my child to Carylwood School. There have been some issues with one of the kid in my child classroom. I called the principle Mr. Ward to address the situation, since it has been almost two years of a working process with this child. When speaking to Mr. Ward he became very defensive, rude and disrespectful about the situation, and felt like I was trying to run his school. I was trying to find a solution, since my child was afraid of this little boy who has hit multiple girls, boys over the last two years including my child. Mr. Ward suggested that I home school my child who has been an honor roll in his school, since my child was afraid of the other student who disrupts the classroom, hits other children and swears in class. SMH. I wanted to put my story out there. I m pretty sure that there are other parents having problems with this principle. Hopeful you too can share your story!!!!

My son is currently attending Carylwood - 4th grade. He came from Glendale and I admit, i was a bit concerned that he wouldn't be challenged academically. Boy, was I WRONG- I LOVE LOVE LOVE this school!! My son is in the gifted program for Reading, Vocabulary, and Writing and his homework is HARD for me and I have a Master's degree (lol). Mrs. Nagy, gifted teacher is PHENOMENAL. Mrs Comer -Smith is his advanced Math teacher and my son LOVES this class. Ms. Kozenko is his homeroom teacher and she does an AWESOME job holding him accountable. I relocated to MI for a new job in Oct 2012 and left my son in Bedford with my sister to finish out the 1st half of the year. His last day is tomorrow 12/21/12 and he is moving with me. The ENTIRE staff have gone 1000% above and beyond to show my son (oly child) extra love, especially on the days he's missing me. I am truly BLESSED to have met them all (School Counselor - ROCKS and Ms. Cart). So, if you read any negative reviews on this school, I URGE you to try them for YOURSELF!! I will MISS this school! More Parents do need to be more involved but that's not the school's fault!!
