I have been to so many schools in my time (I’m a military kid I’ve been to eight) and this is genuinely the best school I have ever been to. There is absolutely no bullying at this school, very little and if there is it is snuffed out immediately. The teachers all care about their students and the subjects they are teaching. It is so so good at preparing you for the future and placing kids on the role necessary for their academic knowledge.

Our child is in the lower elementary level at Bridges so our experience is in the K-5 range, for what it's worth. I'd put BPS squarely in the average range for local schools. Take away the shiny new campus and it's the same experience we've had with the traditional public schools in Beaufort County. Yes, BPS emphasizes STEM and Paidea and Project Lead the Way and SEL and all of the other popular buzzwords shouted at high volume; in practice, the day to day "curriculum" seems to be the same Teachers Pay Teachers worksheets that show up everywhere else. Add in a decent dose of YouTube and Chromebook apps, of course.Where BPS scores above-average with us is the overall enthusiasm level and dedication of the teaching staff. Our child likes going in each day, which is important.Regarding the campus, it's nice but odd. With a big plot of land to work with, the parking lot/car line situation is frustrating and the elementary playground is kind of sad and barren. There's no reason traffic should be backing out on to Robert Smalls Pkwy each morning (unless planners woefully underestimated the impact of plopping a 1100+ students in that spot with no bus/transportation budget). This might be the sort of thing that happens with public charter schools - planning at this level is a lot to ask of a small group of people and a relatively inexperienced school board that doesn't have the supports of a traditional school district.

they dont treat kids right and they abuse power and kick out kids just for asking a question

This school has a long way to go. My son was called the n-word in front of teachers and nothing happened, threatened, and his state testing scores dropped because of the terrible teachers and engagement. This school looks pretty and seems great on the outside, but has a toxic culture, especially for anyone non-white or non-straight. Terrible.

This school is one of the worst schools in Beaufort. It does not effectively prepare its students for college let alone the next grade.

I love it at Bridges Prep. It is definitely better than some other schools in Beaufort
