dont let this schools past fool you, this is nothing but an average high school and nothing special. yes it may have been great but with foolish decisions made by the staff and with every class having over 30 kids, your child is better off going to their zoned high school. say what you want but their is nothing special about it, the school is nothing special and will its performance will begin to decline unless it starts to fix its act soon. too many kids attend this school and they don't think its a problem but it is. teachers don't teach as well as they used too since they don't understand every single student as well as an average sized classroom

It's great and fun. Most people are nice and polite to each other. It is a very safe school due to many security guards, and many teachers make it fun to learn. The teachers make learning a fun opportunity for us to enjoy. They make us want to come to class often. The tests are difficult level, and the AP classes expect a lot from you. The AP classes challenge you and your limits. People in this school are very talented and funny. There are many clubs to join, and fun activities to take part in. Cardozo is having their annual blood drive for those who need it. The security guards and school aids get along with the students very well and ensure that everyone is in their classes at the right time. They keep us safe and hallways cleared. You should come to Cardozo High School!

My son's first year was fine all the teachers he understood . Second year Mr Shin he is having a problem with along with the other classmates. The kids don't understand him also he has poor teaching skills and doesn't care abt his kids. Math AP takes his side when addressed with the problem with out hearing my son side of the story. Mr Bomer is the kindest caring person he actually cares abt the kids and help in the best way possible.

Guidance is exceptional. I have one person who was a Godsend right from the first day of school.. As far as safety.. it's not terrible, but it's not great either.. I am in the process of getting a safety transfer for my child. I don't want my kid in this school anymore. The closing of another school in the area, has changed Cardozo's reputation. It's unfortunate, but I would prefer to keep my child safe.

Our family moved to bayside from out of state in order to enroll our kid to Cardozo, which enjoyed a great reputation for being strong academically. The freshman year went well. Since his sophomore year thing have been changed drastically: many kids transferred to Cardozo from closed low-performing schools in Jamaica, which cause so many problems to this fine school and motivated students. Cardozo used to be one of the finest high schools in NYC housing so many high-achieving minority students who eventually land themselves in top colleges and universities. Is this the reason that Bloomburg decided to cut its budget for advanced courses, put unmotivated students into classrooms so the school's overall performance got downgraded? Achievements should not be punished, and the students aiming high deserve support rather than discouragement!

Others should know that this school offers a variety of classes, organizations and clubs to participate in. I like the fact that it has many clubs, organizations, sports teams that I can join. My school could improve by being a little less crowded.

My overall impression about Cardozo HS: for both students and parents, it's a tough job navigating through the system to get support. It's much easier to become lost given the complexity the student body in addition to the 24:1 student-teacher ratio. A lot of opportunities out there, but you need to work very diligently to find out, to capture it. You are pretty much on your own, so stay strong, focused, and try your best to thrive. College app process is no difference, you figure it out yourself, don't even bother the college office because people there are always busy. I'm not saying they are unsupportive, in fact, with the huge help from parent volunteers, all required forms are filled and sent out on time, but in terms of information and meaningful advice, don't rely on anyone but yourself.

I hate this school so much! It's apparently known for its "good" teachers, but the reason why I don't feel like going to school in the morning is because of the fact that I have to deal with my horrible teachers again. Not only are they unreasonable, stubborn, rude, and horrible at teaching, but some of their tests don't even have anything to do with the topic! The school itself is extremely unorganized; with people in the guidance office who will yell at you for simply asking for something, rude and disrespectful students, and much, much more. The bathrooms are extremely unsanitary, especially later in the day. This school looks and feels like a prison. Because of this school, I sometimes don't feel like living anymore.

My kid is a senior at Cardozo. I would say the experience here is mixed. Academically it's good as my child is naturally curious and motivated to perform well for respect from peers and teachers alike. Extracurricular wise, the school also provides plenty of opportunities engaging students with varied talents. The high school counselor is outstanding in terms of supporting students applying for scholarships and summer programs. The issues lie in student body which is extremely diverse, not only ethnically also socioeconomically. Some groups of student cause concerns on school safety. Cardozo has a separate College Office dedicated to supporting college applications. While understanding the staff members have been chellanged by the load of paperwork for a graduating class with 948 students this year, I still find the office could do a better job communicating with a student and family, and offering more meaningful advice on college app process. On the other hand, classroom teachers are very responsible and inspiring. Most of them serve 5 stars!

It's not a great school after all. Most teachers are dedicated, but the school administration, student support staff, etc. are not there. You are on your own , sink or float. Send your child to a smaller school with better management and support team. With only 83% graduation rate, it's not a great school. 17 out 100 students are not getting their diplomas from Cardozo.

I am currently a senior at this school and I've attended this school since I was a freshman, so you can trust me when I say that this is the one of the best schools in Queens, NY. There is a wide variety of classes to choose from and at many different levels: regular, honors, Davinci (for math and science only), AP. You can always challenge yourself. Also, the teachers for the most part are good and knowledgeable! If you are having trouble in class, many of the teachers are willing to tutor you during their break. This school really tries its best to prepare its students for the regents exam. During the Spring term, students may stay after school twice a week for extra regents help. These extra regents help classes are free and taught by actual teachers. If that's not enough, students having trouble in a class may sign up get tutored by an Arista student in the library during their free period. Arista is a special program at Cardozo for the students excelling in their classes and willing to commit hours to community service.

I'm currently a junior and I can definitely tell you that the teachers at Cardozo are amazing and they let you get involved with everything pertaining to the subject matter and beyond. The students are interested in fully understanding the educational matter and will work diligently to achieve high scores. The school is dominantly a law-based high school, but there are two specialized programs: da Vinci and Law. In addition to the programs offered, many AP courses provided as well. The teachers won't hesitate to get to know your child, which, I believe, is the core of educational success. The student will feel welcome because there's always a place for the child to succeed both academically and socially. There's a club and team for nearly everything.

every classes are packed over 30 studends. most of studends aren't able to sign in actitivities like sport teams and some of them got no attention at all from certaint teacher, but most of teachers are excellent with experience. A communication is weak between shool and parents. Your kids would get lost in the school if they aren't strong enough.
