I have had two children attend this school, both special needs. The staff and admin were well trained, caring, and worked with us for the best for our children. Communication was always quick and reflective of current practices.

This school is a horrible place, do anything you can to prevent your kids from going here. As a former student at this school, I can safely say about 90% of the teachers and staff don't understand how to do their job. Apparently kids talking or reading during lunch is bad and punishable? Kids were never punished for bullying me, and when I started to defend myself, I WAS PUNISHED. Nearly every day I would be sent to the principals office for instances like this. Additionally, don't believe what the teachers tell you about what goes on in school, because they are either lying to you or just not telling you everything. For example, in lunch one day, I was probably being "too loud" during lunch, the art teacher decided to pick me up in front of the entire cafeteria in front of every single student. The humiliation was horrible. When telling my parents what happened, he claimed that he did this in the art classroom. I plan to make a video covering this topic more in-depth.

Our children went to this school with so much hope. Several years and a lot of bullying later I no longer trusted the principal or many of his staff. All of our children were relieved to no longer attend this school.

Since Mr. Berkowitz took over as principal at Fisher-Mitchell, things have radically improved. He genuinely cares about the students and it shows in how he works one-on-one with them. He's a terrific leader, too - the teaching staff seems so engaged, compared to how things were before Mr. B arrived. The school has a great gifted and talented program as well as programs for kids who need a little help catching up.

Both of my girls went to Fisher Mitchell. They had amazing teachers who challenged them and engaged their love of learning.

The school is full of caring adults and awesome kids. The school makes itself open and welcoming to parents.
