This school allows their staff to seep personal issues into their professionalism. My child has been bullied with no consequences despite our efforts to intervene. I had a personal issue with a member of their staff which resulted in lies and gossip being spread causing other members of the staff to make inappropriate comments to me and some of the people I care about including encouraging me to keep my child from after school activities because of who was in charge of them and approaching my significant other with hateful intent to encourage them away from me. Very unprofessional and if you don't want to have your personal business out for everybody, don't bother getting to know these people.

This school sits well below my standard as a teacher and parent. The communication with parents regarding anything happening (especially during Covid times where things are constantly changing) is POOR! I also hate the way the handle things there. My kid lost her water bottle and lunch bag all in the first week and a half of school and they made zero effort to find it. All we got was a “it’ll show up”. Maybe someone stole it I don’t know what goes on during the day but there’s no way she comes home most days with something missing. They also do not give enough homework and focus on other subject areas like science or even art, music, and spanish. These kids need it to develop all-round.

During Covid-19 and school closure, Mrs. Townsend was amazing at doing distance learning. My experience the past year with Henderson has been wonderful. The community has come together for our children to help them grow and learn. The virtual classroom is easy to understand for our second graders we assist with. The packets are super helpful and the kids are not overloaded. The kids still get reading time through EPIC which is amazing and keeps track and even has quizzes. Quizzes online is awesome, and group help from other paraeducators is nice. Class DOJO app is helpful to connect and this year was much better having kids at home and doing distance learning and to see first hand how our kids do in school.

Will be homeschooling my grand daughter due to my experience with what may be the most inept school district in the state.

I went to this school when I was a child, as that I loved it and always wished my kids could go there. When they had a enter-school district transfer I took the op to take my son out of Lenwood school which was a horrible experience my son was getting bullied there all the time and they did nothing about it. Now that he is at Henderson there is no bulling and he has ton's of friends and is above his grade level of learning. Yes there is limited parking but there is ton's of parking down the street, I just don't like how fast the parents drive around the school they drive so fast. But the school it's self is awesome for the kids ton's of hands of stuff for the kids.

Great school spirit, great teachers, safe, clean, organized, close to home. The only problem I have is the parking and leaving the parking lot area takes a long time.

I recently transferred to the area from an excellent school district in Florida and this school is horrible. The prinicple allows these teachers to act any way that they want and she is also rude and unapproachable. It's so sad that this school has adopted such immature drama and promotes it.
