Barstow High school has the best principal around. I was afraid to send my child to high school because of bullies and I feel great that there was no problem. My son even brings his I PAD to school because of the IEP (special needs program) He is allowed to bring items that will help him do better in school through the help. I was worried about theft though there was not a problem. Other students left him alone and did not bother him. The teachers knew he needed help though did not just pass him through and he had to work for his grades. The teachers treat him with respect and e-mailed me if there was a problem. He is now going in the 10th grade passing all his classes. I am very thankful for all the teachers, staff, and principal. The staff is always polite when I visit. Even the Vice Principal took care of issues for me so I did not have to bother the principal. Even the staff that was out helping with the traffic is friendly and able to move the traffic through. All and all, I feel that my son is safe and he is working hard for his grades.

Great school! We love leaving our children where we know we can count on them being safe. The school pushes them academically. The Principal and staff give 110% to the kids success. We also love that the kids learn strong Christian principles. And they added a music program! So glad that we put our children in this school!

II used to be a student at BCS, and found that when we moved to a different California town, I was far ahead of all of the other students in classes like math and sciences. The classes at BCS really fueled my academic drive while challenging me and causing me to think at a higher level. That may sound like an exaggeration for 7th grade, but it's true. In BCS, I maintained somewhere around a 3.6 or 3.7 GPA, but at my new school I had a 4.0 GPA with all my grades in the 95-100% range. I ended up graduating high school last year with a 4.1 GPA and a 1950 on the SAT. I am now enrolled in college in the honors program, and I am hoping to pursue a career as a medical doctor. And it all started at BCS. All of the other reviews are from the perspective of current students, so I thought I would give the possible long term outlooks. And on a side note, Mrs. Bradford, the current principal, was one of my younger sister's favorite teachers, and our family always thought she was perfect for the job.

My son has been at this school for 5years. We love the small class size. There is daily Bible instructions. All the staff knows all the kids. Which makes letting us know if there is a problem sooner. The only thing I wish is there was more physical education.
