Couldn't agree more with the June 10, 2024 review posted by a parent. My otherwise very happy daughter lasted two months here or should I say -- survived. Clicky, petty, and unsupportive....despite having tuition insurance, still seven mother later, I am to date still receiving demand for payment and late notice fees from Blackbaud Management, the unscrupulous company this school uses to collect tuition. I will likely have to litigate to recover damage caused by credit rating as a result of eight weeks of hell for my daughter. No, absolutely would NOT recommend this school.

I was dissatisfied with the school environment at Cape Cod Academy, which was harmful to my child's development. We transferred to Falmouth Academy. The happiness factor at FA is significantly higher and my family is glad we made the move.

Title: A Heartfelt Review of Cape Cod Academy, OstervilleAs parents of two daughters attending Cape Cod Academy in Osterville, my spouse and I have experienced firsthand the impressive educational environment the school offers. A standout feature for us is the student-to-teacher ratio. This aspect is crucial in ensuring that each child receives the attention and guidance they need. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable, always staying attuned to what the kids are doing and providing personalized support. One of the most commendable aspects of Cape Cod Academy is its focus on leadership development. Leadership is not just a subject here; it's a practice woven into the fabric of the school's ethos. From teaching students the basics of respectful greetings to engaging them in advanced problem-solving and presentation skills, the school is truly crafting future leaders. This approach is evident in every aspect of the school, ensuring that students are prepared not just academically, but also socially and emotionally for the challenges of the modern world. The headmaster, Jeff Thompson, deserves special mention. His vision and leadership have significantly contributed to the school's nurturing and student-centric approach. Under his guidance, the school has flourished, consistently placing students' needs and development at the forefront. His approachable and caring demeanor resonates throughout the campus, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere.Family involvement is another pillar of Cape Cod Academy that we deeply appreciate. The school actively encourages and facilitates parental engagement in various activities and decisions. This aspect has not only enriched our children's learning experience but has also fostered a strong sense of community among parents, students, and teachers alike. We are resolute in our decision to keep our children at Cape Cod Academy until they are college-bound. The school's balanced focus on academic excellence, leadership development, and community engagement provides a holistic education that we believe is essential for our children's growth and success. In conclusion, Cape Cod Academy is not just a school; it's a nurturing environment where future leaders are molded. We are grateful for the positive impact it has had on our daughters and highly recommend it to other families seeking an exceptional educational experience for their children.

My student's teachers have been wonderful- the administration at this school is awful. They have no systems in place to support the SEL needs of students; Mr. Thompson is incredibly petty and we as well as other parents have been outright lied to. I am amazed at how much is on the teacher's workloads- would not be surprised if they lose all the incredible caring teachers they have in the next five years. Good teachers can be found elsewhere- do not engage with this administration. They are not heading anywhere positive.

Our daughter has done nothing but excel at CCA. She has been there for a year and her grades have significantly improved. I have 2 college degrees and have been nothing but impressed with the education she is now receiving. The staff is wonderful and the teachers, exemplary. As parents we both have nothing but rave reviews. Full time school during Covid and a better student than last year! We could never thank you enough!

An utter nightmare. Don’t believe the fake reviews written by the admissions staff. The school is desperate for students and will do and say anything.

Our experience has been wonderful so far. We are pleased with the academics, the faculty and staff. Because of the small class sizes, students know one another quite well. These children are forming friendships that will last beyond the walls of CCA.The teacher encourage and inspire students to WANT to learn more and to stretch themselves - this is true even in the lower grades. Study skills are taught to middle schoolers, which is an important skill that doesn't come naturally to everyone.

The school looks pretty on the outside but is a mess inside.

Teaching staff is communicative and school staff in general are exceptional. I can pick up the phone or send an email, and I receive an instant response. I always know what is going on with my daughter, and this is, indeed, a strength. Classes are small and learning is encouraged in many ways. Use of technology is exceptional. Don't believe the negative reviews...disgruntled parents are beasts!

Our children have attended CCA for several years and we couldn't be happier. The teachers know our kids so well - and know how to inspire them about learning. And they are thriving in this environment. And beyond the great academics, CCA promotes the values that we as parents want for our children - strength of character, self-confidence, self-reliance, empathy, and respect. It's part of their daily experience at school.

Cape Cod Academy is an exceptional school that provided my 2 children with a top-notch education. The faculty are very knowledgeable , and truly care about each and every student. They support all learners, and help each student be their very best. Students are encouraged to participate in all areas of school life, from community service groups, to sports, to arts. My children had the opportunity to participate and be leaders on sports teams, clubs like Mock Trial and Student Council, and Community Service Organization. They both went on to exceptional colleges, and attribute their growing successes to the foundation and support they received at Cape Cod Academy. Check this school out, and become part of a wonderful community!

Cape Cod Academy- a school where bullying is not only permitted, but then denied ever happens when they are in court.

This school is not what it seems at first glance: landscaped grounds, pictures of smiling children on their website and the word "academy" may give you the false impression that you are to receive a quality education. Not so. The administration is incredibly inflexible. The curriculum is thrown together and seems to have no logical sequence. Early grade phonics instruction is way below mediocre. The style of instruction caters to quiet, traditional learners, whose only occupation is reading. This school does not recognize a child's need for structure and movement. Since the student body is small, chances for building lasting friendships are limited for most. On a positive note, Everyday Math in the elementary school and the use of math computer programs seem to produce results. Other than that, mostly average teachers teach in a very old fashioned way without empathy or any understanding of learning styles, always blaming the child instead of looking at their own inability to teach. Notable exception: the 2nd grade teacher. Insult to injury: you are paying for it. Your solution: be on top of phonics and math in elementary and apply to Falmouth Academy starting in 7th grade.

Choosing to enroll our children at CCA is one of the best decisions my husband and I have ever made. Our older daughter struggles in math, but excels in reading, writing and the arts. At her former school, the only focus was on her struggles, as they were teaching to the state test. At CCA, the teachers have focused on her strengths. It has been so refreshing, and it's obvious that our daughter feels more success and encouragement from each of her teachers. As a result, our daughter is showing more confidence in herself. The math is coming along too, with some wonderful support! For our younger daughter, she is busy creating PowerPoint presentations for her monthly book reports, actively learning Spanish, and taking part in science laboratory experiments as part of the Lower School curriculum. Both girls are gaining a top tier educational experience at Cape Cod Academy in a supportive and welcoming environment. We could not ask for more!

This school is very basic. It doesn't offer a wide arrangement of languages, art, or anything to do with art classes. The teachers here only teach one way; traditional. Im a student here in 8th grade and I don't really like it here. The school is not worth the staggering tuition price. The elementary school seems ok, the middle school is a mess, and almost everybody complains about the high school. Although it has a 100% college graduate rate, its not a top notch school.

If you child is a traditional learner, then he or she will do well here. But, if your child has even a slightly different learning style, then he or she will flounder. My son attended CCA for two years in the early grades, and he absolutely wilted. Although he is a bright child, he did not did not do well completing worksheets while sitting at a desk for long periods of time. The teachers and support staff were quite nice and claimed to want to understand his learning style, but their myopic view of education, and their philosopy that educational success can only be measured by how well a child regurgitates information prevented them from tapping into the incredible potential that he possessed. He has been at a different, independent school here on the Cape now for several years and has truly blossomed, because his new teachers understood that learning needs to involve movement, creative thinking and hands-on experiences. He is now at the top of his class.

I am a student and despite all of the other revviews that say this is "Great" I hate it. I can't wait to go away to Tabor Academy.
