The staff was rude and discriminatory. They do not treat all students and staff equally.

We are amazed by the skill and will of the administration, support staff, and teaching staff at WTES. They are responsive to the needs of our "2e" learner. Communication is timely, professional, and purposeful. We also can tell that the educators at WTES sincerely care about and are invested in our child. Parental engagement is encouraged and there are many opportunities to be involved. Our learner attended private school for PK-K for three years, and for the start of first grade... and the move to WTES was among our best decisions as parents. Our child is thriving. We LOVE this school community,

Mix to good, but the ones which are not so good experience - primarily because of silly reason, and most important of all, if teachers or leadership is wrong and you point it is wrong and needs correction. They are not very receptive and at later stages pretty ignorant.

Overly critical teachers, doesn't support child with mild attention. Keeps complaining for every small thing and offers no positive reinforcement. A school for very perfect kids well no one is perfect.

We absolutely love West Towson. We have two kids there and have been happy with every single teacher they've had. Very active PTA, recently became a Green School, wonderful principal. So, so happy with this school.

As a former teacher, I can honestly say I have never seen a better school than West Towson Elementary school. Mrs. Hershfeld, the Principal, knows every student by name (there are over 500) and has high expectations, which her Wise Westies strive to meet daily. This school has outstanding technology in a LEED certified building, but more importantly, it has caring teachers and staff members who truly LOVE kids and teaching. I have three children who attend West Towson. We have worked with Special Ed. IEPs for two of our students and have one child who was identified for GT placement. During all of our meetings with teachers and staff members, our questions and concerns were addressed professionally and with the focus on what was best for our children. Parents are very welcome and involved in this school. Many are in the classrooms helping out on a daily basis. There is a fantastic after school Clubs program that offers everything from Chinese to Lego Club, Karate and a Girl Power 5K Club, to a Healthy Snack and Breakfast Club. The Patriots and Defenders Program is also a plus. We are so proud and happy to be a part of this very special place. We love our Westies!

West Towson Elementary School is great for the general education population with outstanding facilities and a very active PTA. My daughter has special needs and I found that it was very difficult to receive services and evaluations at this school.

All my three kids are happy in this school. My oldest child who is now in middle school has a great foundation set for another challenging blue ribbon school that he is currently in. And he has by far gotten great results as well. I believe this has been attributed to the excellent program plus with entire staff and teachers who treat kids as their own. As a parent, I couldn't ask for more. Teachers have excellent skills bar none. I am just happy that I chose this school and it truly has been rewarded with all three of them in the Gifted and Talented Program. I also would like to commend their Music and Arts Program. It is by far more than what I expected. My two older kids are playing in the band and had great feedbacks from their teachers. I hope they will be awarded as a Maryland Green School soon.
