Four of my grandchildren attended a STEM Academy in Ventura County, which is currently rated 7/10. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they had to transfer to Stella Hills Elementary. Moving forward, they all love their new school, and I appreciate the safety precautions implemented to ensure every student’s well-being. However, I am concerned that Stella Hills has received a rating of 2/10.Every school should have a STEM program and other initiatives to promote and foster interest in higher learning. As an LAUSD employee, I have seen a strong emphasis on students achieving higher education, from grade school through high school, particularly through initiatives like College Day. Children need to know that they can achieve anything they want in life.

I can’t really give a recommendation of Stella Hills, based on the test scores. My 4 great grandchildren attend this school and are about to finish the 2023-2024 school year. They transferred in from a STEM School in Ventura County. I hope they continue at a level that will make them ready for the next school year. Test scores don’t appear to be up to par, and that is troublesome.

With the arrival of the new principal things have since changed, but more improvements are definetly necessary.

I am a citizen and am assisting my wife in finding the bell schedule for the school. It is not on the schools website. This type of information should be on a schools website. Furthermore, the website does not include any pictures and has limited information. It does not appear much effort is being made to utilize technology with the schools website. This leaves a bad first impression of the school.
