This is a very unprofessional school. This school placed my son on the school bus without notifying me. My son was dropped off without anyone being there to pick him up, my son is a kindergarten student. A week before this incident I notified the school of my new address. Therefore this school allowed my son to be dropped off somewhere I no longer live, alone. When I contacted the school to ask where my son was the office lady was very rude and had no sympathy for the situation. She blamed the teacher then blamed the bus driver. Never did she show kindness or show urgency that we did not know where my son was. I was left to resolve the issue on my own. Horrible irresponsible school, never did I get any apology an I’m sorry nothing and when I was speaking to the office lady the next day to withdraw my son from the school. The principal was there and said nothing, again horrible irresponsible school.

The new administration at the school has been a much needed change and improvement. I’ve really had a nice experience working with them and getting to know them. Thank you for your hardwork!

I have been a volunteer at Collier for the past two years. This administration and staff care about students. The dedication of Collier teachers is remarkable. The focus on progress feels amazing. Staff, administration, students and parent are all working together to improve performance and culture. This feels good and I look forward to volunteering my time at Collier in the future.

Horrible experience! Horrible staff behavior! I regret switching to this school! They do not care about the students.I will first start off by saying that the teachers and staff are so rude and disrespectful to the students.I cannot even believe how a grown adult, especially a teacher can be so rude towards children.I will share a few problems I’ve experienced…*It is impossible to speak with anyone when you have any concerns with your child. I have left several messages trying to speak with the principal, Never received a call back. I sent an email to my daughters teacher and sent her messages on their “Remind”app that they tell us to use to converse with our children’s teachers and she also does not reply back. *My daughter was changed homerooms and I was never informed that this happened or why it happened when I tried to find out and left a message with the homeroom teacher, again, nobody ever responded back to me. *I talked to the vice principal, school counselor, and the dean all together about a situation that was happening with my daughter, all of these promises were made to try to help her never happened, so nothing was resolved and that really shows the lack of care they have for the students.*On the first day of school my daughter forgot her supplies in the car, I went back to get them and wanted to take them to her class I was not allowed to do so as they do not let any parents in the school so the teacher that was at the door promised me she would deliver it to my child and that was never done . I had to repeatedly call, left messages, and finally go to the school in person and tell them about this situation before it finally got fixed. I don’t know what the problem was that made it so hard for a bag of school supplies to reach her room but the bag wasn’t found for about three days. After it was found they made it supplies for whole class instead. *My daughter was walking down the hallway and her backpack bumped up against a teacher and this teacher turned around and started scolding in a rude demeanor telling her “watch where your going” * On the first day of school my girls were heading to the bus line and a teacher yelled at them very inappropriately in regards to which way to go. This happened the first day of school,it’s a new school to them so how are they supposed to know exactly where to go? and even if it wasn’t their first day or a new school the attitude and demeanor is unprofessional and disgusting .I can go on and on

Collier is a great school. Im very pleased with the teachers and staff and the education that my daughter is currently receiving. We couldn't be happier with our school choice.

Literally the worst school I have ever come in contact with in my entire life. Horrendous! If you can take your child anywhere else I strongly urge you to do it. If there was a bottom floor of talented teachers available these teachers came from the basement. No one else would hire them so they came here. They are rude, disrespectful and care nothing about the children.

Worse school ever!! It's prison like. My son now 7 has been there since kindergarten, and till this day now 2nd grade I pretty much receive a white paper where the teachers take their time filling it out writing and complaining about every single little thing he does instead of helping the kids out by dealing with them. They are lazy. They need better deciplinary methods that are actually going to give better results. Principal who?? At this school I didn't even know they had one. He must hide in his office all day every day.

My child attends this school and I consistently have to police the staff. There is definitely inequality in this school and the children see it. When confronted the staff will tell you what you want to hear but then go back to their careless ways once they feel the issue has subsided. My child was suspended for being involved in an incident that happened off school grounds but because it was on his way home from school they considered it "school time". However a parent recently approached my child in a threatening way when my child was on his way home from school but when I discussed this issue with the school they stated it happened outside of school grounds so they have no involvement!! They would not give me any information on the parent & I had to contact the police department who in turn was able to get the parents information to get answers!!! What school does NOT protect their kids?!?!?!?!Educationally they do not push or challenge kids so if your child is bright its up to you to MAKE them expand the learning process to keep the brighter children interested!! I'm fed up and this Friday will be my child's last day!! The superintendent has been sent a correspondence documenting ALL the unprofessionalism & disregard my child & I have received from our short 1 1/2 year stint in this warehouse they call a school!

My child has been in this school for over 5 yrs, and its been a nightmare. I feel as thought the Administration staff doesn't effectively address kids equally. My child experienced issues with other students, yet little was done. While I try to stay away from the word bullying because its often overused, my child was being bullied. Instead of applying consequences equally, my child would get one severe consequence while the others got a slap on the hand. This school created much bigger issues for my child emotionally and has created the need for therapy. Teachers are not created equal either. Some are a great support. 7 grade teacher Mrs Steele is AMAZING. But many of the others have very little desire to connect with your child. Its no wonder their turnover is so high. I wish i'd never had my child attend this school.

I wasn't happy with my son's kindergarten teacher for the first half of the year, but the second half was much better with a new teacher. His first grade teacher has been great, and the administrative staff (especially the principal) are very supportive.

-parentMy children have been to this school for 2&1/2 years now. The teachers seem really supportive that my kids have had. Going out of ways to have meetings or just being able to communicate. I wish I could say the same for the other administration that feels the need to really not care. Actions are different for every child when it comes to the rules. Each child does not get the same discipline for breaking the same rules. Feels more like a military school instead. Was told at one point children are preparing for the work force. What smaller age kids are doing that? I have looked at other schools and everyone pretty much says the same thing. So there doesn't look like much good for Littleton schools. Really need to up their process of bullies and breaking the make your days. ....

My child started this school in kindergarten, she had a teacher that has no business teaching small children. This teacher has no personality. My child started kindergarten really excited and could not wait to go to school. A couple of months of being in school, it was a dread. There are some really good kindergarten teachers in this school but this one in particular, we were very unlucky. This year is a new year, the excitement for school is back and I think the new teacher will inspire and encourage my child to learn. The principal is great and is well connected with parents and students.

Several of these review use the same wordage as my previous review. Bullying by the staff . They seem like pretty spot on reviews and situations like the one my daughter went through. I as well tried to get the district involved and got no where.

I have learned much from this school since my grandson started attending it. teachers, starting with the principal, have shown me their experience and knowledge of teaching and being able to handle kids that have great disabilities and in need of special education. I salute you all and wish all the goodness that you carry and share it with the kids. Thank you and God bless you....

We have been at collier for 3 months and it has been the worst experience for my 6th grader, constant harassment from other kids. When we reported our concerns the vice principal was very defensive stated several times that it was not harassment or bullying because it was different kids. I'm so frustrated with the school district and the school. My kid is an honor student and is now struggling to get himself to get to school....

My child has been with this school since kindergarten, she loves it. I love it. She has excelled so much, I love that the offer all types of extra activities. I love and appreciate the extra time her teachers offer, she is an honor roll student and opted to tutoring so she could sharpen her skills. I love that her teacher stays late to offer tutoring for all kids. Reading some reviews tells me that some parents just dont accept that their child could be the issue. When I have had any type of issue, I talk t o the administration and it is handled very quickly. This school is all about kids and learning! Keep up the great work!

Again, another issue with this school. The faculty at this school use bully tactics and mentally abused my daughter. They do not follow the their own due process in the parent handbook. Very poor communication. New Dean of students acts like he cares but then is very hard to reach. I have brought it to the school district and they wont do anything about. If the parent previous to this message says this school is so wonderful, why are all the school ratings in this district so low both great school rating and parent rating? That should answer your question.

This is an excellent school with a fantastic principal and caring teachers. (Most are great!) Don't be misled by some of the complainers. Some of us are guilty of not keeping track of our kids' progress and just get upset when their grades are disappointing. We have 24/7 access to grades if we request a code from the Technology Department. By the way, the PTA seems very active, and Collier sponsors many interesting programs like Specials Night and "Battle of the Books." Kudos to the entire staff and especially the "Teacher of the Year, 2012" who leads the "Battle of the Books" Program!
