We moved to Augusta from Wichita because we wanted our 3 kids to go to a better school for high school rather than Wichita public schools. We had 3 all in high school when we moved. 12, 10 and 9 grades. Most teachers and students were great. There were a couple though that seemed to almost shun our kids because they did not grow up in Augusta. They were treated different by a few teachers and the only thing they or us as parents could come up with was because they were not form that town like 99% of the other students that were born and raised there. The sports and classes all were great and all of our kids graduated but I think they should really look at how they tend to favor some students WAY more than they should. It is blatantly obvious to the students that seemed to be over looked. My kids unfortunately told me after the fact because had I known this would be happening as often as it did, I would have said something at the time but none of my kids go there now so I figured I would forewarn other parents to be on the lookout if you decide to move to Augusta.

All three of my boys have attended Augusta Sr. High School and all were VERY well prepared for college & work after graduation. The teachers are involved as instructors, coaches, mentors, and sponsors at almost every level, and the community does a great job of getting behind AHS initiatives to improve the school.
