Our daughter recently graduated from Curtis. She had a great experience with the school. She was prepared for college both academically and socially. The school hired a new administrator three years ago. Since that time the high school has almost doubled in size. We highly recommend if you are looking for a Christ centered education.

There's this one teacher, (not gonna name names) who said my son got 10 points off his project for not adding color to it. The rubric said nothing about different colors being added and he only added yellow. he resulted in a 65% grade.

Great school!!! My child loves attending Curtis and we are thrilled with the high-quality, bible-based education that she is receiving. Small class sizes mean that the teachers have a more hands-on approach to education, and our child has more opportunities to interact with the teaching staff and other students. Parents are encouraged to become involved in school activities, and communication with teachers is exceptional. The faculty and leadership are very responsive to parents and are constantly striving to improve academic excellence and forward-thinking ideas. We are excited to see the growth in this school and know that it is the right place for our child to excel academically and spiritually.

We had a horrible experience, my newly 3 year old transitioned to the K3 class with an extremely firm teacher, he is potty trained which is one of their requirements, he had no potty issues in the K2 class prior to. But for some reason for the first week in K3 he pottyed on himself daily. We started asking him what was wrong, he said his teacher was mean. I spoke with this teacher and she verbalized that she doesn't like cleaning up after children and I said that's impossible since these children are 3. She even got in my child's face. I talked to the lead teacher, she told me she would talk to the other teacher. So after a couple of weeks I received a letter from the Director that said they may have to remove him if he doesn't show improvement within 30 days. So I spoke with her and I told her he was intimidated of this teacher and when she arrived he wouldn't ask for anything or say anything which is what I think is the source of his potty issue. So I left the meeting feeling that the letter was a formality and that as long as he showed improvement he can stay. He actually improved, he went from pottying daily to pottying 2-3 times/week. So 3 weeks after our initial conversation the Director sent me an email on a Monday afternoon saying that my son's last day is that Friday, 4 days away! I was floored and immediately started to figure where not only that son but my other son (K4) would go! The Director handled this situation poorly and if his improved potty issue wasn't improved enough for them then she should have sent an email/call at least 2 weeks in advance which is common courtesy!! Not once did they offer to move him to another class to see if my theory was in fact true. My son has now been at an amazing school who truly displays Jesus's characteristics especially LOVE! He had an accident the first day but I'm glad to report that he's been there 3 weeks and has had no accidents except the first day!! I would never recommend this school because their leadership is ineffective and unprofessional!

Poor education is presented to the middle school and Highschool programs. There is no standered for the education presented. The administration is in shambles. The so called school Board is made up on the local Church members that have NO IDEA how to run a school. Curtis is far from being a Christian school. That's why it's becoming what it is. Don't take my word for it validate with the numbers were five years ago for the high school and middle school to what they are today. This includes the turnover of staff as well.

I strongly agree with the other comments saying "they'd rather preach than teach" but I recently dealt with a bullying problem at this school and I told them what happened everyday. They chose to do absolutely nothing. Bullying should never be tolerated. The teaching methods are weak. For example testing us when we haven't gone over any of the material. As well as the teaching methods the extracurricular activities are also weak. I had p.e about 10 times that whole school year.I would not waste your money on sending your child to a school where they would be unhappy and uneducated.

I sent my child here and I am disappointed to say that I wasted my money- money that could have went towards a college fund. The teachers have minimal qualifications, unlike public schools, and they spend most of their class time degrading and demonizing other religions and other belief systems. Their math scores are far below average, likely because they spend the majority of their time trying to integrate religion into every subject. They are extremely fanatical. I love God and sent my child here expecting a quality education with a Biblical background. Instead, it was like my child went to a 40 hour a week church; absolutely no emphasis on academia.

It is important that my child has a christian education from the Bible. At Curtis, they are afforded an excellent education, but also a correct Biblical one, unlike the garbage the Public School Common Core is feeding young children today. They are also taught from excellent curriculum such as BJU Press, A Beka, Apologia, etc...Curtis has high standards in dress, athletics, and education, like many other private schools. This school has pushed my child academically, and I am very happy with the education and structure they receive here.

Sending your child to Curtis Baptist School is a matter to be seriously considered. Yes, your child will get the "Christian education" they are so determined to instill, but they will not be taught much else. The administration places few to no boundaries on what the teachers are allowed to discuss, and there are no guidelines as to what they must teach. There will be entire class periods where they will be preached at, which, in turn, will cut into their education. Their curriculum is flawed, to say the least. In a whole, you would inevitably be wasting your money on a low grade education. It is, however, the perfect school for your child if your priority is a stiff religious lifestyle. I speak so bluntly because as a student who used to attend the school, I would not wish it upon any other family that can easily avoid it.

My son has attended Curtis Baptist for over a year. The teachers and staff consistently work to ensure that children not only receive an excellent academic education, but one that reflects the values of the Christian faith. Unlike the public schools, there is a code of conduct that is expected from students and enforced. This atmosphere provides students with a safe and positive learning environment. Curtis Baptist will welcome you regardless of your religious denomination.

We have 2 kids that have been there since daycare 1 & 2 yrs old and are now in PK4 & K5. Teachers care, love, and teach our kids. After school care, summer program, sports are available. They teach the Bible well and our kids have fun and love going. Academically, better than most public schools though. I went there as a kid and I'm an Engineer now. Our kids really know the Bible well, which is what we're looking for in the school.
