This school was a wonderful environment for my children. I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing staff!

We have absolutely loved having our kids at Washburn. They have been pushed academically but also helped along when they have struggled.

Although there are gems in that school...my main concern is for my Autistic daughter. She gets bullied at school all day everyday and I feel they dont really work with that. There a certain kind of laziness when it comes to certain situations. I have to be on top of them all the time. NOT good if you have a special needs child.

Washburn is a school which is not accustomed to having a student remain with them for more than a year or so. This has resulted in a decided lack of comprehension of behavioral, social or emotional issues a child might have. If a child is anything different than an average learner they promptly throw up their hands and say, "lets make an excuse to drop them on the special ed department." The outdoor safety is meager at its best and dismissal is a disaster for the swarms of walking students. Only two of the many intersections have crossing guards. While there are a few gems in the faculty it is by no means an example of compassion and dedication. I will be relieved when my child is moved to a different school and no longer suffering under their insufficient capabilities. If you have a special needs student, do them a favor and get them into a different school!
