I never hated a school so much, I was bullied and the school did nothing about it. Teachers would just pull you out if class without parents permission.

Both of my children went here, and they had supportive teachers who encouraged them to use their strengths/passions in and out of their classes.

Whenever my child got bullied, which was often, my child got punished. It's pretty messed up over there. I pulled my kid out.

AMS might be the worst possible school ever invented in the history of he world. I hope and pray that some new superintendent, comes and just fires every higher ranking person involved in any way at AMS. I'm going to try to give you every reason I can think of to hopefully discourage you from sending your kid here and just know, I probably forgot a few. The gifted and talented class is actually a relatively good one but it's only once a week which makes -1 sense since there are three elementary enrichment teachers. Most of my frustration at the two completely wasted years of my life I spent at a school that could be run by a 3-year-old and not miss a beat, is directed straight at our new principal. She was hired to be the principal the same year my class of 2020 entered middle school so I had her for two years (yay.) She seemed to inherit some of the cool activities from the principal before but decided that bringing donuts for her staff would suffice for extra effort put into the school. We used to have a wellness day where we did "wellness," activities all day but that just vanished this year. We had another week about space where we switched homerooms for a week which was cool, but I guess that was a little too cool for AMS because thats gone as well. The teachers never seem to be on the same page for things such as dress code and what time we can get dressed for practice. One week you can leave classes to get dressed at 1:45 and get ready at practice than the next week it's been mysteriously changed to 2 by some mystic force with half a brain. It seems that dress code lasts about as long as our principal feels like enforcing it, when you walk in the door wearing a glorified bathing suit and the principal doesn't tell you to change why should your lame teacher be able to tell you any different. It seems the principal doesn't even know what goes on in her own school. You have a bunch a bunch of great teachers leaving (seriously like 15 have left in the past two years) while you have completely incompetent teachers (and supervisors) being allowed to stay for years on end. You can't come in and watch a class literally twice a year and count that as an evaluation. The splitting up of kids through teams could actually be a good idea but you know that's what they said about guns.
