Placer High School stands out among its counterparts across California. Notably, it is one of only two high schools in the state that features an open campus, creating an environment reminiscent of a college setting. This institution encourages students who are driven and eager to learn by offering Advanced Placement classes and numerous club opportunities to foster growth and engagement. Regrettably, the school also permits room for those who wish to embrace a more lethargic lifestyle and delve into the subculture.Athletics holds significant prominence at Placer High, which boasts a rich history of cultivating top-tier athletes and successful teams. Even as a relatively inconspicuous student who graduated back in 1977, I found that the school effectively prepared me for both college and the subsequent phases of my life. I wholeheartedly endorse Placer High School for students seeking a superior educational experience.

We are trying to make it work.A definite improvement from EV Cain Middle School where our daughters IEP was not followed and she was bullied non stop.Just wish there was more positive supports for students and that the staff were more creative with accommodations.

Great school that promotes a well rounded curriculum. If you want your child to be ready and able to handle the real world, this is the school to choose!

Placer is most widely know for their football, and they do put a very large majority of their funding into the athletics department. Other than athletics, their core classes seem to be lacking just a little, however they do have a very interesting robotics/tech class that very few other schools in the area can boast for- last I checked. The highschool is located in downtown Auburn, and is an open-lunch campus. Lunch period students can either stay on campus and buy/bring lunch, or they can walk just past the residential area and treat themselves to the local shops. There's a taco bell, frozen yogurt place, and even a sushi resturant. However there are risks with traffic involved if that is a concern to any parent who doesn't think their child is ready to handle a sidewalk and rush hour traffic alone or with friends (there is no supervision), and I doubt that the school lunch is long enough for sit-down sushi. Area rumour is that the students are either really smart or football jocks, and everyone else is a downtown party-goer. (Note: This is just the stereotypical rumor heard around the other highschools in the area, and a reflection of what I have personally experienced.)

This was a great school that went through a transition period when the football teams head coach got fired and Joey came in.
