My daughter has been at Sherwood for 3 years now. She loves it. The teachers and staff are ridiculously supportive and helpful.

Our son went to Sherwood from K-6th grade. We were blessed to have such wonderful staff work with him to curb many behaviors from his autism. He went from spending most of the day with special ed teachers in kindergarten to just checking in once a day in sixth grade. They were always welcoming us any time we had questions or needed anything. When we had an issue with bullying, it was taken seriously and nipped in the bud!!

Sherwood is an outstanding public school. I have had my children in two different school districts due to my job moving me around. This is the only place that they have told me that they WANT to go to school. They love the free breakfast with their classmates in the morning. They like their teachers, and as a parent I have had no problem receiving feedback from the teachers. The Tyler system works very well for my family to stay apprised of the grades my chidren are earning, and it allows communication with the staff if there are questions about a grade posting. I did originally think it was an odd idea to have one of my children go to detention for missing a homework assignment during their lunch. However, after finding out that the Principal and teachers are there to help them complete all there homework and to ensure they learn the material missed, I have a new positive respect for the idea. The school's administrator down to every level of the staff are focused on the success of every child enrolled in their school. They show great care and concern for every child, both at school and away. They even supply food care packages for children to take home over the weekend.

My heart is deeply sadened that i have put my daughter in this school where she feels she is not respected and bullied by the staff. This is definetly a place where kids are to be seen not heard....I feel if the teachers are truely unhappy with their job perhaps they should get a new one...Detention is passed out around there as though it were a compliment. ....SAD... You should want the kids to want to come to school and feel as though they can initeract and learn from the teacher not feel as though they will be punished for speaking..

My two children hagone to Sherwood for a number of years now. They both love the school, teachers, and principal. Everyone works really hard to make it a loving and fun environment for learning and that is openly communicated down from the Principal to the Staff. Sherwood Elementary school is over 40 years old, but it is really clean and bright. The custodial staff takes pride in their job and really works hard to keep it a fresh and clean learning environment. The Test Scores are a big indicator of a staff taking the initiative to to raise the bar for our children. Scores have been on the rise every year and the staff is constantly trying to improve their results. The math program at Sherwood is really making a positive difference in my children's understanding and memorization. I fully recommend this school to anyone.
