I'm a mother of four daughters and a grand daughter. Three of my girls have gone to AMS, one is still currently attending. This school use to be good and is now worse. There are too many fights, bullying that goes on unnoticed and nothing usually done about it. The things that go on while going to and from school on the buses is ridiculous. These kids are disrespectful and always wanting to start a fight or belittle others. The majority of the teachers are lazy although there are a couple that really do care about your child's education and they do there job. Racism is a huge issue. Most of the good kids or ones that aren't trouble makers and have excellent grades go unnoticed until award assembly for those that haven't missed school or maintain a good grade. The boys have sexually harassed the girls and usually something gets done if reported. Most girls won't report because they're scared of retaliation. The vulgar language that's used is really a sign of the parenting. The teachers are quitting left and right. They put teachers in that aren't qualified. Ardmore middle and high schools are some of the worst schools I've seen. I've lived in this district for 16 years and moving soon because I'm tired of this town that's only going down hill. It's only getting more pathetic as time goes by. I would not recommend sending your child to these schools let alone living in Ardmore. Check out the FBI charts for Ardmore on violence, drugs and criminal activity that goes on here! It's in the schools too! A loving and caring parent that is tired and wants you to know!
