here's my honest review: wekiva is an alright school with a lot of underlying issues- it is what you make of it. there is a noticeable disconnect when it comes to communication, but if you are an involved parent there shouldn't be any problems (just don't expect to get newsletters and emails from admin). the administration could use a lot of work, as the staff itself isn't bad, they just continue to implement policies and rules that do more harm than good for the students. teachers are great on occasion, and i have been lucky to have some incredible ones. there is a big issue when it comes to work and the actual education that the students are receiving- the administration seems to only care about test scores and the school's overall grade. students are being taught how to pass tests, not how to study and actually do well in whatever skills they should be learning. there is a massive issue regarding the curriculum; some teachers really just do not focus on teaching as much as they do passing their students. there have also been multiple times where a student has had a concern or issue and brought it to admin (bullying mainly) and it was brushed aside or dealt with in a really ineffective way- EG the student gets in trouble for bringing their concerns. HOWEVER, if you or your child actually want to succeed; they won't have issues. if you actually want to go to a great college, the staff can and will prepare you for that. if you want to be a part of sports or one of the magnet programs, you can and will succeed there. wekiva as an institution gets a bad rep, and that's fine. but the students are trying, they're not doing too bad, and it isn't fair to judge them based of the actions of the staff and how the school is run.

Teachers are so unprofessional, they cuss at the students and kick them out sometimes for no reason. They have to follow silly rules, the teachers in general are just so terrible. There are alot of fights and too many disrespectful students.

Admin are clueless and insufferable. New staff every year, but still the same issues remain. The new staff always worse than the other

Wekiva has some of the worst administration in Florida, feels more like a prison than a learning environment.

10/10 Seriously, it's such a school that can really together. I love the dynamics that happen.

It’s a terrible school. I wish I hadn’t gone here.

The worst ever. Teachers are not trained well enough to deal with situations.

I am currently a senior at this establishment and have been going here since the beginning of my high school career, I must say that this is a prison-like experience for the students from teachers who don't know how to teach to the administrators that think they can talk down the student body because they have a false sense of superiority over us, to a student body full of unintelligent disrespectful children. It has been an overall nightmare of an experience contrary to popular belief if yo go here high school is not going to be the best years of your life.

Wekiva has been a great school for us. I have had two children graduate from Wekiva. We still have one enrolled that will graduate in 2015. We have found the staff and administration to be very easy to work with. We have a new principal this year. So far we like the changes she has made. Go Mustangs!
