Teachers here are generally great and care about their students. If I was just rating them, they'd get 5 stars. However, the admin team would get negative stars from me, if possible. They have completely mishandled my child's, who has learning differences, education. There is very little empathy for those who need special resources/approaches to learning. There is even less motivation to ensure that those needs are met. It's absolutely shameful that these unique children and their families have to go through what the school makes them go through to get any of the needed resources. Even then, appropriate instruction and accommodations are severely lacking.

Great experience and since the school is implementing Continuous Improvement it should get even better. Face to face or Individual Remote Learning option is offered during the Covid-19 pandemic which is a huge relief at this time. School has done a great job at communicating with parents using phone, email, and online apps.

We've been with CWE for more than 6 years now and I keep witnessing a constant improvements. They implemented a personalized learning and I felt on one of my lids how great it is. They have iPads in every class and personal surfaces starting from 4th grade. However, kiddos do not spend plenty of time on the electronics. The other way around, actually, kids learn how to do their research and ask the right questions. They have more and more classes with flexible seats (teacher's choice) - which is awesome! Great leadership, communication events. My kiddo doesn't want to miss a day, she just loves to be there!

This is our 4th year at Cogburn Woods; we've seen so many improvements in the leadership and communication. Teachers are pushed and encouraged to grow their professional skills; new teaching techniques are encouraged and promoted; each grade level operates as a team to encourage consistency throughout classrooms. The PTO is engaged and friendly. Our personal concerns are addressed as needed in the classroom and through administration, within the parameters allowed through Fulton County.

Dreadful. We purchased a house in this school district because it was a highly rated school. The current principal was un-supportive and in-caring. On a nationally normed test he fell from the 90th percentile to 65th percentile in fewer than four months. If you want your child to go backwards, THIS is the place to be.

I'm quite pleased with CWES. They offer seesaw and bloomz technology to keep the parents in the loop. They did an anti-bullying week. They've updated their media center. They host social functions to create a community atmosphere.

This is our third year at Cogburn, and unfortunately things have changed for the worse. Some of the para professionals( especially in the cafeteria) at this school seem to lack the patience to deal with children. There is obvious favoritism for big donor families, and diversity among the teachers is almost non existent.

The school is run like a corporate. There is no passion from the teachers. They have zero patience and they don't explain well. I have to tutor my child which I have never done before. Technology is still in its infancy, teachers just started to have websites. I see nothing related to STEM education. Children have zero manners and they are all bullying each other. Teachers do absolutely nothing to stop them or direct the troublemakers. I would not recommend this school.

Cogburn Woods lacks the ability to truly educate our children. Many of the children attend outside tutoring programs for their educational needs and attend Cogburn to meet the requirements if the law. Any positive test scores are not a reflection of the school educationally. The instructional design has left many students confused and it seems that the teachers don't know how to relay information and/or simply don't care. There is absolutely NO diversity among the staff or administration, yet the student population is extremely diverse. This leads to a serious disconnect between the administration, teachers and families. Under the old administration the school reflected a positive atmosphere. The new principal, Lisa Garosi, has brought a more domineering and bullying tone, which is disrespectful of the students and families and apparently the rest of the administration has taken her lead. This school is no longer student or family friendly to say the least. I would not recommend this school.

The school has good teachers but lacks direction. There are no science fair or other initiatives from the school administration to lead children into STEM education. Overall practical experiences for kids are almost nil. The school's participation in any district or state level program is negligible.

My child is in 3rd grade and the two months have been great. I am glad he is in this school. His teacher Ms. Nash and the principal Mr. Bruce R. Fraser and assistant principal Anita Erickson is equally efficient. Parents are also equally involved with the activities in the school. All the teachers are nice and really like to let the students learn in positive and fun ways.
