this school does not do anything about bullying as a student in his school i her so many things said to other students even around the teachers not to mention about the racist slurs around the school but nothing is done yet the teacher punish us for bad grades but they do not teach they sit there or write on the board make us copy this is not right and students shouldn't have to pay because a teacher can't do there job.

Going to this school is one of the hardest things in my life, I personally like to learn but here I don't learn. The second you walk through the doors you face degrading comments. The bullying is out of control, the respect does not exist, the education we receive is hardly an education. The school pretends to care about the students but they couldn't care less. My advice is don't let your student attend this school, because it will break them.

Terrible. Leadership has no communication with staff.

Bullying is out of control. Kids have no way to protect themselves or get help. If your kid doesn't fit into the "school box" this is not the place for them to be. Disappointed doesn't even cover it.

I'm very astonished at what's going on at Ortega middle school. It's clear to see that there's an issue with their lack of crossing guard staff. There are clearly "no parking" signs along the sidewalk in front of the school on Victoria St, but parents still park there and the school/cops dont tell them anything. It poses a great threat to the students crossing the street. They have to be almost to the middle of the road to see if a car is coming. I witnessed children almost get ran over multiply times, the car coming less than a foot away from them. When I called the school to complain all they had to say was "this is a middle school. We don't cross them." I understand it's a middle school, but they're still children. The least they can do is enforce the "no parking" zone, so the children can clearly see both ways before they cross. It's heartbreaking to see the schools lack of care for the children. I guess the school isn't going to care or do anything until something horrible happens.

Ortega Middle School is a great place for my student. The environment is safe and friendly. The teachers are very welcoming and are highly qualified for their positions. I receive monthly calendars and information in the mail and also able to get daily an ebullition. I believe that my student is getting the best education possible here. I think they are improving their teaching skills each day.
