My son has been attending Homer since Pre-K. I've found that all of his classroom teachers are top notch folks who really do love and care for their students and go above and beyond to help them succeed. The only place I've seen failures with the staff has to do with the young, college aged Student Teachers they have working the playgrounds and extended day areas. Like any younger generation nowadays, they seem more focused on their phones than the task at hand...which in this case if our children!!! The only complaints my son has ever had with any staff at Homer has been regarding the younger student teachers. I have not personally seen any issues with bullying. What I have heard of is that when a teacher is aware of it, it is dealt with swiftly.

Like most OK schools..below par in many areas common sense seems to have taken a back seat in the parent pickup process. I do not recommend enrollment here.

The teachers I have dealt with have been great, unfortunately I do not agree with the heavy homework load. The school administration does overstep its boundaries at times.

I have had 2 children go through Homer Elementary from Pre-K to Grade 5. I have been very pleased with this school. The teachers go above and beyond to ensre my child's safety. They are way ahead of the game when it comes down to lock down procedures, and have a plan to implement. They drill on what to do in emergency. The facilities are A+, with an underground storm shelter as well. The technology is quite advanced in every classroom, as the teachers work hard to engage all learners. A really "at home" atmosphere is what you experience, involving parents... with the students being top priority. The school nurse is wonderful & calls home when your child is ill, as well as updates when your child returns. Every teacher my child has had, has been wonderful! The teachers at Homer are there because they love what theoy do & do it well! Thank you Homer Elementary for being THE SCHOOL OF CHOICE in our Ada Area!!!

I have to agree, this school does not honor the bully laws, I have seen little children sitting on the backs of others and beating them with fists when i drove up to pick up my granddaughter and reported it and nothing was done and it was right in front of 4 teachers in charge of the children in the play ground and it was not the first insodence I have seen.
