I have been witness to the approach the school has taken when a child and the parent are having difficulties. The parent is presenting the problems and the child is acting out the problems. To the point of the child showing physical signs of anxiety and resistance. The Schools stern and uncooperative ways and making matters harder. Their regimented process shows no level of concern for the situation or the child. It's somewhat abusive on a controlled level. The reports of percent turn out are barely making it in comparison to other elementary schools. We need to do better for our children.

My issue with this school has more to do with the administration than the teachers. This school year a new VP Caitlin Sieracki was appointed to Bakersfield and I just can’t understand how this woman was promoted? She says all the right things to placate you, but she doesn’t follow through. As an educator myself, I believe strong leadership is essential to creating an environment that is conducive to learning. One can not have a weak leader and expect success. VP Sieracki lacks leadership skills and simply placates situations instead of attempting to resolve them. You can’t please all of the people all of the time. I’m wondering if nepotism played a part in this promotion.

They need new teachers that can handle the millennial children. Those teachers are not prepared to handle the different personalities. And the parents need to get more involved in what's going on at that school. Visit during the day to see how the teacher interacts with the class. Hoping she does not be extra nice because there are visitors

I am a student at Bakersfield Elementary School, and from my six years I've been there, I can't imagine any school that could of been better. All of the teachers are loving and caring. I love my peers and we all get along. I will be sad to leave , but I will always have memories.

Bakerfield ES is an awesome school for the children - the teachers and staff or very helpful and caring. They take the time and help the your child to understand what they are learning which also builds the kids confidence (if my son and sure true to All students) to better improve what they are capable of. Which a BRIGHTER future for the children. There you can never go wrong!!

My child goes to bakerfield elementary and was in the third grade. I just read the other review and they are dead wrong. Mrs. Moore was his teacher and she was the best he has ever had. Her kind heart is shown in the way she teaches. She goes above and beyond her call of duty. I just wanted you all to know there are still rear teachers out there!!

My kids went there for 4 years. So glad they don't anymore. It felt like an institution or a prison, not like a school house.
