If you have to leave Columbia Heights for work or other needs, a short walk brings you to the Metro station. By taking the Green Line, you can access the Gallery Place transfer within a few minutes. The area is also served by north and south bus routes. For exercise or outdoor play, residents can visit Meridian Park. The park offers 12-acres of nature trails, greenways, and statues.
