School Overview: Lake Travis High School

Located around 20 miles west of Austin, the current Lake Travis High School was constructed in 1988, and is a part of the Lake Travis Independent School District. The school earned an exemplary rating from the Texas Education Agency, and the Class of 2010 scored over 200 points higher than the statewide average on the SATs. Lake Travis High School is the only school in Texas to offer a High School of Business Program, along with 25 Advanced Placement courses, honors classes, college prep coursework, and Career Institutes for vocational training. In 2014 there were eight National Merit Scholars, and 13 National AP Scholars. Lake Travis High School Austin is home to the Cavaliers, and students have the opportunity to play on 17 high-ranking competitive sport teams. Non-athletic students can choose from dozens of extracurricular activities and clubs, which cater to a wide range of interests. Each of Lake Travis High School’s more than 2,600 students can find a place to feel comfortable and become a part of the community.
