James Bowie High School Austin, commonly known as Bowie High School, is the largest school in the Austin Independent School District, and the second largest secondary school in Central Texas with an enrollment of over 2800 students. Texas Monthly magazine gave the school a solid 5-star ranking, and James Bowie High School has earned multiple Good Performance awards from the Texas Education Agency. Bowie High School offers advanced students the opportunity to enroll in 22 AP courses, and 50 Pre-AP and honors courses. The students regularly score higher on the SAT and ACT tests than the Texas state average. The Class of 2014 produced a National Merit Semi-Finalist, and 72 AP Scholars.
Bowie High School Austin provides a well-rounded academic and extracurricular program.
