This is an awesome school, I don't like how the kids have to stand outside when it's freezing out, raining, the kids should be able to go inside when they arrive and go to their classroom. They can't go to a playground so they are running around the parking lot. They need to change that issue, because it's not safe for the kids and it's not fare.

Excellent - I volunteered for many years while my daughter was a student, and then worked on the playground during lunchtime. Teachers and staff are consistent with procedures and language used to remind students about those procedures. I always encourage parents to volunteer when possible because it shows your child that school is something you value. Also, you become familiar with the atmosphere, the staff and the children who work with your student.

I think the discipline or supervision could be a lot better, esp. on playground. From subbing there in the past, supervisory teacher or personnel needs to be more alert and vigilant to actions and behaviors; WALKING AROUND more. Behaviors can escalate, Fights or unsafe behaviors can happen if not checked and monitored more. Can't just sit afar off talking or doing something else. The school, academically seems okay.

I am a student at oriole park elementary, it's a great experience for me to make friends and to make a good education. I think this school should rate 10 because the teachers are friendly and helps you learn great. The specials teacher means gym, computer lab, art, music and library, they are very friendly and they help you with stuff that you need to learn. The principal is very nice to kids and there's a big front office. They have parent involvement for parents stay in touch to know how their kid is doing. They also have a MEAP test, that means that students have to take a reading, math or writing quiz [writing quiz is in 4th grade]. They also have break times or should I call it recess at 10;45 am, lunch break is at 12;05 I think that's a decent time for students to have lunch and the other recess is at 2;00. I think that's a very good education for students to learn.

This school is a blue ribbon school of Kindergarten through fourth grade. Students keep their teacher for two years in a row to develop more of a rapport. Curriculum is also based on a two year cycle that allows the student to concentrate on the subject with greater results. All of the grades work together in many of the areas of school work in order to accelerate the younger children's learning and give the older children a nurturing experience and to develop social skills. This school's MEAP scores were excellent and the teacher to child ratio is great! My first grader's class has a total of twenty-one children including herself. The teachers are very communicative with parents and use logical standards of discipline. I recommend this school to anyone moving to the area and to those who are looking for a school of choice. This school is comparable, if not better, than the charter school my children previously attended.
