Very good school. I learned a lot from the teachers who actually want you to succeed.

My child was bullied for an entire year with racist remarks from students in his class. The principal did nothing. Awful leadership. We actually had to leave.

Welcoming, professional, orderly, light, bright, very clean... very impressed with this school. Teachers are passionate, caring and have advanced degrees, and my daughter is very happy and excited to go in everyday. Homework is just the right amount - fantastic enrichment program! LOVE it!!

The school has experienced changes over the last few years with class consolidation and fewer teaches which results in less one on one time as well as some children not getting the direction needed. Some teachers are highly competent and caring while other teachers lack training and experience. My biggest issue is using yelling as a poor tool for disciplining the students. Discipline is calm, gentle, and has a nurturing tone of voice. Some teachers need a workshop on the long-term effects of yelling and that it can lead to poor self image and esteem, lack of self control, anger and temperament issues. Administration is antiquated and needs to be changed for a positive transformation of the school.

Sending my children to St. Charles School was the best choice we could have made for our family. Our experience has been overwhelmingly positive, in pre-K through 3rd grade, thus far. The academic curriculum is satisfactory & challenging. Teachers/faculty are very approachable, and genuinely appreciate parental involvement, whether it be volunteering in the classroom, or being part of a plan to help their child overcome any academic, social, or behavioral challenges.... It's always a perfect balance of nurture & discipline; Ultimately, giving the child a great sense of pride & accomplishment, and laying a strong academic & social foundation for them. The religious education extends FAR beyond Catholicism, as many non-Catholic students/families attend SCS. Dropping my kids off for the day, at a place where, personal accountability, moral standards, human decency, GOOD MANNERS, are not only reinforced, but EXPECTED, is probably the biggest difference I see between parochial & public school, in my recent years of comparing the two. If you're researching your elementary school options, good luck & I hope this encourages you to learn more about St. Charles School!!
