Most of our kids transferred over to Assumption in 9th grade, and they were welcomed by staff and students. Two of our five have graduated, and both say that their writing skills are head and shoulders above kids that came from other schools. Assumption staff is dedicated to preparing students for higher things, both academically and spiritually. Being a small school, there are lots of opportunities for families to be involved and to get to know each other which we consider a plus as well.One of our kids has behavioral issues and I can't say enough about the support we have received to keep him on track. The Assumption team has gone out of their way to work with us and support our efforts to help him. A couple of our kids are athletes, and Assumption takes its athletic program seriously! The student section is always full at home games, loudly cheering on their peers. We have recommended Assumption High School to other families and will continue to do so. They are impressive!

A small school in a small town. Teachers are underpaid and thus you are not able to get the best. Admin is mediocre at best. Most of the staff are alumni or relatives that could not find a jobelsewhere.. Kids are well behaved. It is difficuilt to break into the parents groups as most are related to each other and do not like outsiders.

Contrary to what a few others have posted on this site, Assumption High School provides a top-notch education with a demanding curriculum. A review of Assumption ACT scores compared to ACT scores from ANY local public high school shows that AHS stands above the others. As a parent of both college and high school students, I can tell you that our college student was MORE than prepared for college after attending AHS. He has been on the Dean's List since his freshman year, is taking a very aggressive course load and maintains a 3.75 GPA. Parents, if you're looking for a program that challenges your children, holds them accountable and teaches them to hold each other accountable, establishes a firm academic foundation that greatly enhances their probability for success in college, and provides them with the moral guidance of a Christian environment, then Assumption High School and the entire Assumption Catholic Schools organization is the place to be!

Our School is one big family. We have GREAT teachers and staff.
