Unfortunately I've been dealing with the school system for 10 years with two different children and it has been less than ideal. From the unorganized and chaotic parent pick up and drop off. To the incompetent staff and administration , it has been a struggle. Every year something happens to challenge parents and students in a negative way. I'm not going to list all the constant issues because if I do this review would be five pages long. I'm very disappointed in the school system in the only light at the end of the tunnel was them getting through the winter in school system in order to move on to Monty tech school which is by far the best school in the area. It has been extremely challenging getting to that point in this school system just does not have their act together and it's been like this for 10 years. They can't keep the same administration for more than 2 years at a time. Constantly shuffling around superintendents and principles due to incompetence and scandals. The school system is like a bad reality show

I have two children who went to this school. With two very different experiences. My oldest was bullied by a teacher, her whole class, and she got good grades. Because, she came in from a private school and the kids were terrible. This was back on 2013. They did nothing about the bullying. I HATED the school system! Then, my youngest child went, because she was being failed by the SED at another school. We tried here and the SPED department was PHENOMENAL with my child! Filling in the gaps that the other school left out, like basic reading and math!!! They communicated with me, he parent, all the time and made sure I understood everything! My child made High Honors this year! Which I am so thankful for. For us, we didn’t have a problem with SPED. But, I have heard others complain about something called Summit and how the kids are struggling. My child was captain of her cheer team, but the billing in general at this school is ridiculous! There are no repercussions, either. No loss of sport privileges, no calling of parents. I’m just shocked at how many kids bully in this school! I was thinking they need to have an intervention, where someone comes in and puts the grades as a whole in the gym. Asks a question, like, “have you ever been bullied,” have those kids step forward. Ask, questions that make them vulnerable and shows them that they are all alike! At the end everyone is standing together. Then, they have to look around and see where everyone is standing. That everyone has problems in their lives. In their families. There’s no need to be mean to one another. Help each other out!! Talk to the guidance counselor and make that a safe place to go. There’s so many kids that come from broken homes. But, there’s so many wonderful kids, too. It’s very imbalanced. The administration needs to really take a good look at that. Safety, I feel my child is unsafe in school. The kids trip other kids. Dodge ball, broke her glasses before. Some kids are extra rough. Bomb threats. Some teachers just don’t care anymore. They don’t listen. Kids self harm. School is a scary place. My child had lots of friends at this school and her social experience was ok. Just the kids she made friends with. Teaching her stuff I didn’t like! Then, 2 girls were horrible to her, because she worked very hard at cheering and did good! They ganged up on her. One of the parents said that her child did no wrong. But, I saw it. I just observed and watched it happen a lot. I was angry!
