We have a bullying policy in effect that has zero tolerance for bullying. The point of view that I am bringing is that there are ways to stop the bullying incidents, but if the policies are not followed, there is nothing that can be done considering that it is after the fact; the damage has already been done. The first thing that needs to be done when bullying happens is to ask the person to stop. Many times people are not aware that things have occurred. When this first step is done (of course depending on the violation and degree), if it occurs again there is evidence that bullying is occurring and the school can take action. Action that is taken is that both parties are brought into the office and the policy is reviewed. Witnesses are sought, time and when it occurred. We then have curriculum plans that include ways to stop, using proven techniques. If the bullying does not stop, we can proceed according to policy which will resolve the incident and problem

This school is in chaos, nearly ran out of funding. The school does not handle bullying very well at all. If you dont grow up in the town, your kids are tormented and bullied. The parents let kids get away with it and think its funny. I tell everyone to steer clear of this toxic community, take your kids to hamlin, desmet, or clark. Parents and the school handle their children SO MUCH better.
