As a former teacher, I was appalled at the way discipline and rules were so arbitrarily applied. Students who verbally assaulted teachers got away with it, yet others who commit relatively minor infractions were suspended. Parental involvement was dismal; some protected their little Johnny and Sally Troublemaker and blamed the teacher. Curriculum was an issue as well. We teachers were called on the carpet for not making it rigorous enough, but we were at the same time called on the carpet for failing too many students. Did they want us to make it challenging or dumb it down? Who knew! Morale was so low; it is as if people want this school to fail. If this school wants to succeed, teachers there need to be respected, and the students must not be allowed to run the school.
