The previous reviews of Willard Schools are completely false. They are reviews from parents whose child was disciplined for poor choices or whose child did not get their way. Willard is incredibly welcoming. The teaching staff is completely dedicated to taking care of the students and providing for their needs. The facilities for both education, athletics, and the arts are incredible. Just walking into the building and you can tell how much the school district cares. Do not listen to those who would rather protect their unruly children from discipline. This is a good school!

This school is horrible. The teachers fail to communicate with parents and seem not to care about the children unless they are athletic or have the right last name. I have also witnessed the teachers being verbally abusive to the children and making fun of them with other students, which is incredibly unprofessional. Furthermore, the students pick up on this behavior and bully non-athletic children and students who are "outsiders" horribly. My daughter comes home from school in tears once, sometimes twice, a week and nothing has been done about this! Not to mention this school only seems to pay attention to athletics; grades and the arts don't seem to matter. They talk about cutting art programs but continue to give disproportionate amounts of money to sports programs. In addition, this school seems to constantly be telling parents how poor they are (and they are, I don't hold that against them) but they had enough money to build a new gym... One that is "the largest in the NOL", as they like to boast. It is ridiculous.

This school system is the worst my children have ever attended. Most (95%) of the teachers do not communicate with parents and are very sarcastic. If you grew up here, are athletic or have "The Name" you will like the school but if you are an outsider, DO NOT COME HERE (there IS a double standard). The lack of response and or action by administrators to a variety of situations is pathetic. The students unfortunately pick up on this and are physically but mostly verbally abusive. Not all but a very large percentage, there are small pockets of respectful kids albeit few and far between. I will say that the elementary schools are very good, unfortunately it stops there!!
