My granddaughters had their teenage years ruined at this school. There was mental abuse from teachers, bullying from students . A coach participating in hazing. I can go on and on . If my kids weren’t to scared to tell me till after school I would have transferred them .

This school ruined both of my daughters high school experience. There was as much teacher bullying as student bullying and the entire chain of command is either related or close friends with each other. When you report something it gets worse. a coach hazed my daughter along with the team i would attach the video if allowed.

As a retired teacher who has taught and substituted at WISD, I find the greatschools.org rating of 4/10 to be an overstatement. Like most government-run schools, they receive fiscal support based upon student attendance. The quality of the product (educated students) is secondary to attendance numbers. It is time for the local governing body to recognize the mediocrity of education available to the children of this community. When athletic programs receive more consideration than academic achievement, something is "rotten in Denmark".

We didn't know what to expect when we moved here - we had never even heard of Whitney. WISD has turned out to be the best school our kids have ever attended in Texas. We are staying until they graduate. They are excelling and are honor students in the high school now. WISD offers dual credit AP courses, has lots of sports (FB, softball, tennis, golf, etc), has a SUPER academic program with lots of UIL events.... it's a great little community too. Can't wait for the new High School addition and new library!
