This is an outstanding elementary school, however current principal Chad Nelson has quickly tainted it. Chad Nelson has been quoted “I will get those 5th grade boys”. How disgusting. Chad became a man of his word… he began targeting my child. The more we dug (open records and asking questions) it became apparent he harassed my child, targeted and tormented him. This is not an exaggeration unfortunately. The District was made aware and quickly covered for him, did not allow us to speak to them. Not sure what’s worse Chad Nelson or the fact the district will protect not mentally well administrators over the children.

We are very happy with our kids experiences at Richards. They address the whole kid and don’t put too much focus on standardized testing.

Due to the high education level of the community, the student population skews to the gifted/talented crowd and they perform very well. I would say the school leaves a lot of potential on the table and doesn't push students hard enough.

Richards is ok. Most kids do well there. But many other schools in the area would be better for kids with special needs.

High socio-economic area, high achieving kids with high achieving parents. Many things are fantastic about this school, particularly the teachers. BUT, the principal (Dr. K, not Mr. Tenorio who is inaccurately listed here) has really created an atmosphere of distrust and low morale among staff. Parents and students no longer believe she has students' best interests at heart. Some wonderful teachers have left and more are whispering of retiring sooner rather than later. It is a small community and Dr. K has made big mistakes that will not be forgotten. If I had to choose again I would have my kids go to Cumberland.

Moved here from TX. My daughter found 4th grade VERY challenging...a very good thing. The school has a very good range of activities, especially in music. I've been impressed with the staff. Zero issues with other kids in school, I'm very confident that problem kids are promptly dealt with. Most of all, there is no school lunch...no communistic rules about which snacks the school deems healthy. A common sense, good school which I feel sets the standard! WOW!

Whitefish Bay has the ultimate schools. IRichards is a prep for the High School which dominated the State with a all time high score with a 26.5 ACT. It was number one in the state by over a point and with a score like that possibly tops in the Nation.
