I'm content. Like any school, there are some amazing teachers and some ordinary teachers. The principal has been very fair with discipline issues. The communication is fabulous. I'm impressed with the commitment to technology. My daughters math and science teachers are google teachers!

I'm impressed with the level of parent contact and communication at middle school! Wow! Our child is enthused about school and we have really noticed a high level of student engagement and involvement here. Would happily recommend Central to anyone.

I was surprised to see the negative reviews but it looks like many of them are from a while back. My family's experience would be similar to the other review from February 2013. The principal has done some great positive outreach and I think the IB program gives a very positive focus for the school. We hope they bring IB to the high school. The music and art classes are very strong. There are so many energetic, committed teachers, and most teachers are quick to respond to questions.

We're very happy with central. Some great teachers and a strong focus on character development.

Classrooms are over crowded. Teachers and staff struggle to maintain control and use ineffective methods. Struggling students just drop out of sight with little concern for improvement. Counselor does not follow through her job.

This school is horrible there is no discipline in the school what so ever. The kids can do whatever they want and the teachers have no control. The principal was never there and made the vice Principal do everything. I never saw the principal there. The students there did not treat the teachers well at all. The school had fights in it every day and the students were rude to the teachers. I remember seeing stundents swearing and yelling at the teachers. Lots of bullying at this school as well. The teachers also have to waste a lot of time in class to deal with all the bad kids. So that means like the teachers have to spend half the class period on discipline. Do your children a favor and send them some where else. They will thank you later.

Central Middle School is the worst school that my son has ever been too. My son was bullied so much that every day he would come home crying because he was bullied every day by so many people. Both my son and I contacted his teachers to tell them what was going on so many times and nothing happened. I feel like the teachers and the office just don't care about my son. My son also tells me that there is a lot of violence there and lots of drugs. He sees fights in the hallways and my son says the principial is never there and shows very little leadership. My son will definitely not be attending this school next year.

I have a 6th grader at Central and we have been so pleased with all her classes and teachers. I'm certain that the negative comments posted by students from 4 - 9 years ago were not completely true at the time, and even if they were partially true then, that was so long ago and that is not the case today. My daughter and her friends (some are 7th and 8th graders) have never seen fights, drugs or been unhappy with how a teacher treats them. I find it interesting that none of the negative posts by parents are first hand. It's always what they heard; it's always what some other kid said. The principal of Central has pleaded with parents to visit the school hallways, attend school meetings, attend parent/teacher meetings and notify him when they hear rumors so that he and the staff can investigate. They will investigate and share the resolution so that the truth is spread - not rumors. I also find it interesting, and sad, that all the negative comments have grammar errors. If you're reading this and and have had a positive experience with WBL schools and Central Middle School, please post so people have a more accurate - not to mention recent - view of our school.

I agree with most comments, my son is a 7th grader this year and I love White Bear but Central Middle School has been disappointing. I know my son isn't perfect but Central doesn't seem to bring out the best in students- his choir teacher this year told the whole class that they are the worst class she's ever had- and that's not the first teacher that has said similar things. This makes me wonder- are these teachers really passionate about teaching this age group when they are at a pivitol place in their life especially with their attitude about learning? I don't feel like the teachers do enough to help the students that are struggling-they just let them slip through the cracks even when they have a good academic history of high test scores. There is A LOT of room for improvement.

After reading all of the comments as a parent I really agree that Central is not helping the kids in White Bear. I've heard things from other people who's kids attend the school. Like kids getting bullied, drugs, boy crazy girls, discipline is not fairly administered. My kids attended Central' but got into alot of trouble.Principal is unfair, unjust and un accountable. We went new school and everything changed for my son I think Central needs alot of help, they need better leadership, better discipline, better teachers. Kids need to love school, friends and find peace and happiness in life. Kids need to enjoy learning. I think central is not providing a enjoyable learning environment.
