  As a parent with two older children who attended "regular" mainland schools and my youngest two who have attended Ewell School since pre-k and prior, I find Ewell School to be a wonderful, loving environment for the island children. It certainly helps when the teacher and teacher's aides know the parents personally of each and every child. The teachers (aides included in that title) know what level of conduct is allowed and expected by each parent. The small teacher/student ratio allows for extra help where needed and allows for teachers to explain in detail to parent where a child may need extra help at home as well. My children are now nearing the end of their time at Ewell School and I am apprehensive about sending them to the mainland for the balance of their education as the Crisfield school's reputations are not that good with many of them even failing to hit AYP every year. While there may be some of the programs missing at Ewell School (i.e. gifted and talented, etc) and be no dedicated physical education or sports programs, I do not think my children could have gotten a better elementary education in any other Somerset County school than they have under the tutelage of Miss Janet and staff at Ewell School! ...More Reviews

  This school is truly amazing with a supportive community, staff, and teacher! I wish there were more schools like this one.... ...More Reviews
