Teachers are very effective but the community and the school's community need revamping. Teachers are overwhelmed, there is just not enough help and funding to make better changes. This all have to do with the head of the school. Students are very disrespectful, no decent upbringing and its all out of wack! However, the educators there just do not get any credit for all the hard work put in the make the school not be an F school.

It was awful...I was bussed in from 10 miles away when there were 4 perfectly good schools within 2 miles of my home. Bullying is rampant amd allowed...much victim blaming went on..and when the bullied lose it and start to retaliate...they get in trouble

It was eye opening and very sad. The children don’t have much of a chance to succeed here. Note: Some amazing teachers are doing their best and giving 150% but the culture is so negative.

I recently moved to West Palm beach FL. from the Chicago area for a new job opportunity back in April. I made the mistake on choosing a place to rent without really doing my homework on the schools in the area. I live in a nice neighborhood. Unfortunately I was zoned to send my 2 children to this school, one in pre k and the other in the 5th grade. The pre k teachers seems nice and although I only met with them for a short time they seem like they enjoy what they do, and thats helping kids. So as a father I felt comfortable leaving my only daughter in there hands. As for my son, well second day of school my son was standing in line, and one of the girls for no apparent reason desides she wanted to turn around and slap my son. Now I teach my son to defend his self, but as a man you do not hit a girl. So he instead went and told one of his teachers. Instead of the teacher doing anything about it, she just blew it off and told him to sit down. My son came home and told me and his mother what happened, my wife had to call the school. To make a long story short when they brought the girl in and asked her what happened she admitted to doing it and said she just felt like slapping somebody. I felt that was messed up, but ok I don't know the little girl situation at home so at least she was honest about it. But as far as the repercussions, the little girl had to say sorry, and it was dropped. my son then told me when she went back in class. she was making fun at him, and said she didn't mean the apology anyway. So me and my wife went up to the school to talk to the principal. And oh my god, where did they find this woman at... I have never met a school figure sooo rude unprofessional, and disrespectful to parents. when we approached her she basically blew me off and told me to talk to the person that was next to her while she was on the phone. I felt like a was talking to a sassy teenager with a attitude. Now I understand this is a underprivileged school, and not the type of school my son is use to going to. But as for me I grew up in the streets of Chicago and not too much shocks even me. But this.......I had to threaten to bring the police to the school a press charges on the little girl to be taken seriously. I now understand what the other review of the teacher below was talking about. If you are moving to the W.P.B. area DO YOUR RESEARCH...

Last year was my first year as a teacher. I faced the challenges of getting to know the community and overcoming a large group of students who had gone through 3 teachers their kindergarten year. They came to me with little to no knowledge of how to read. My principals were supportive, kind and went above and beyond to make sure that I had the support and resources I needed to make a positive impact in the lives of my students. As a result every one of them progressed and made at least a year's academic growth. I find the school to be pleasant, nurturing and dynamic. Is it perfect . . .no . . .no one and nothing is ever perfect. However, I work with many that have a growth mindset that truly care about the children they teach.

My grandson's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Mary Miller, is awesome. She has helped to nurture a wonderful child and I hope 'the raised bar that was set' will continue for him.
