High school stall if very two faced and if your child isn’t favored they actively work to kick them out without expelling.

Calvery has a grievance policy but if you use it they will expelle your children. They are so nice and open when you enroll but as soon as you ask a question or ask for help with a situation you become a problem and they actively work to get you and your child out of the school. They use tactics like bullying intimidation and being overall divisive withing the parent groups. They are a Christian school but other then the location they are as bad if not worse than public schools

Be weary of pursing the school's grievance policy as they fully believe in retaliation and will punish your children for bringing up legitimate concerns. They will hold children back with no records or reasoning why and then tell you they don't even have time to read your grievance so just sign separation paperwork.

CCA is a school that is run by the church. If that is for you, then go for it. The administration, while nice and cozy with you to enroll are utterly incompetent to what is going on outside of their walls. The church is TOO involved and controls everything they do, from the school side to the athletic side. There is a HIGH turnover rate for a reason. It starts with the top. Before this school grows ans attempts to make a difference in the community, they should look on the inside first. The staff are overworked and under paid. Both of those items together make for a rude awakening every June and July for the admin. The admin cater to certain individuals (students) that should not be allowed to do any activity. They give into parents of those "overbearing" types and just sweep things under the rug. I want to see CCA thrive for His purpose, but before things get better there needs to be a change at the top. I have been told they are "approachable" and have "open doors" whic is so far from the truth. I encourage everyone to ask for an appointment to see the principal, you will be pushed down the road until they can get around to you. This is NOT how a Christian school or organization is run. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone until some HUGE changes are made.

When recommended to Calvary School in Melbourne we were met with great promises, high expectations and an environment that sounded like all a parent could ask for. Unfortunately, the school year did not turn out the way it was presented. Two elementary and two high schoolers gave a glimpse into the school. I do not have a middle schooler so cannot speak on that level. It is certainly an elementary school. They are geared for it. Supply lists were given, one student was able to keep the supplies. The other teacher had a community center of supplies. My child would come home dollar store broken crayons, while we sent in the requested Crayola. This was the same for other high-end items like dry erase markers and scissors. Our child did not receive any we purchased for them in this class. Teachers require the students to spend half hour increments reading throughout the day. Reading is great, but when there is more quiet reading time than learning time, it makes one question the hours of school and/or the curriculum. We were not informed the elementary students learn core math. Dress code was pretty standard, except they made the children wear uniforms on picture day?? Very odd since we pay for these that they could not be dressed based on policy dress down code. High School had a few strong leaders. From what we learned it was the first year of high school for Calvary. Many suggestions from parents were made on the high school level. We were told on multiple occasions that the principal did not want to add anything to his plate. He likes football so funds raised by the high schoolers went to football activities. We tried speaking to other high school staff. They were receptive and requested grace as the first-year high school for Calvary administration. Some of the leaders in high school had well thought out ideas and were very receptive to making things better. Perhaps the principal and the leaders have different ideas. Perhaps the school and the church have different ideas? We are not able to say. This was indeed a hard year with many challenges. However, we decided it was not the best for our family with such a tug of war between the principal and leaders. We appreciate that the teachers themselves, treated the children well and they had a school year as best as they could for being a first-time family.

Excellent school. The teachers really care about their students. It is rigorous academically, but emphasis is placed on the spiritual as well. It is a very secure school where safety is a priority. My son loved his time at CCA. I highly recommend this school.

The staff is nice but the academic part is utterly ridiculous!!!! I do not even understand my 1st grade daughter's homework and I dont even think a high schooler could! They teach common core math which is BANNED in public school for a reason....maybe they should think about that!!!!

This school has a good use of technology, down to the VPK program where students have computer lab at least once a week. In the classroom once a week my daughter gets to play learning games on an ipad and have media time as well. They go to the media lab, also the library. My daughter loves the vibrant chapel time she tells me about dancing and singing to "Jesus music." They learn how to use the computer mouse and answer game questions. She plays hands on learning games in her class and when I volunteer I see all that is happening here. Students get to go into the different fun area of class called centers. My child is learning so much and will be successful in her Kindergarten entrance test. I feel like they are right on the level.

I would rate it as excellent. All the students and teachers are indebted to Christ as far as helping students learn. I know for a fact that Mr. Timothy Flay is doing his job as the headmaster to find good curriculum and keep it up to date.

My son went to this school for 6 years. It was an overall positive experience. He was more than prepared when he went to high school, especially with writing papers. Any discipline or bullying issues that came up were dealt with swiftly and fairly. Teachers were amazing! They communicate well and truly love the kids. We are glad we made the sacrifice to put him at CCA. Money well spent!

The leadership at Calvary Chapel Academy of Melbourne is incompetent in handling issues with children. They prefer to see the negative side of an issue rather than getting to the truth and defusing the problem. They are highly geared toward escalating drama where there is nothing more than kids being kids.My kids attended for a number of years. During this time I saw other intelligent parents pulling their kids to find a better option.

It was probably one of the worst schools I've gone to when you talk about students and parents (yes, even parents are special), but teachers and staff are far better. Some class materials are questionable. Also to quote one of my previous classmates "You can go to a Christian School and not be a Christian." That should warn you. Not a lot students by 6th-8th grade are strongly and openly Christian.

Beautiful and kind administration, leaders and teachers but a great need for embracement of diversity in the classrooms. It was apparent that parents aren't teaching their kids at home how to play and socialize with others of a different background/race/culture and it is a sad thing to see at a place that teaches the love of God.

Let's start with the good...the facilities. Beautiful school and church. My kids enjoy chapel and learning about the bible. Many teachers are beautiful Christians and their love of the Lord shines through.Parents are required to serve 20 volunteer hours or pay a fine....love this. All schools should do this.Now the bad......#1 - COMMON CORE....what a complete nightmare and a huge mistake for a Christian school to use this secular curriculum...and as a previous review stated....the poor teachers hate it and do not know how to teach the crazy math#2 - High turnover of teachers....most have not been there very long...this speaks volumes in itself#3 - Blatant Teacher favoritism.....one teacher actually gave a young student a gift bag with goodies in front of all the other students because he was a good boy for a few days and didn't act out.......really?!?! Most of these kids are very good everyday and don't receive any recognition. Other kids repeatedly receive fruit of the spirit awards in chapel when it is not deserved and other students are more deserving. #4 - Boys don't get to use the beautiful gym for PE.....only girls....very unfair. Boys have to waste time walking across the street to the parking lot to play. Although when it is extremely hot they will let the boys play inside.#5 - Some of the office people are very rude....this is quite common in public schools but when you are paying thousands in tuition a little courtesy would be appreciated. It can get stressful spending a good portion of your paycheck on private school.#6 - In order to keep up with other schools, more student technology learning experiences needs to be added....ipads, chromebooks, etc. They need to be learning this earlier.This school has so much potential....even though my children will not be returning next year we will still be attending the church.But my final parting words and biggest reason for removing child from this school...COMMON CORE!!!!!! Get rid of it....does not belong in a Christian institution of learning!

The teachers and faculty genuinely care for the students and their education. My son loves this school and loves that he can pray and talk about Jesus with his friends.

CCA is an exceptional school with Christian values, which my four children learn about on a daily basis. I am so pleased with the teachers and the academics at CCA. It is such a wonderful balance, which prepared my son for high school this year! He is enrolled in all Honors classes in 9th grade. While at CCA, he earned three high school credits in Algebra 1, Geometry and Spanish. My children have made wonderful friendships and love attending the school. We have been very happy with the whole experience at CCA.

My children have been attending CCA for two years and this year will be the last. We are paying thousands of dollars a year for a public school common core curriculum in math and language arts, which is definitely NOT BIBLICALLY BASED. We tried to be open minded and give this curriculum a chance. But unfortunately the teachers aren't properly trained in teaching it and the students and parents hate. We have had many tearful homework nights. Why am I paying our hard-earned money for public school with chapel? Complaints from many about the curriculum have fallen on deaf ears. You would think they would listen to the parents who are paying for their children's education and donating to the school!! We will be putting our children in one of the MANY Brevard county Christian schools that do not utilize common core for the 15-16 school year. The school also needs to hold family type activities which focus on school spirit and unity. Also, the school is lacking in communication with parents. Our kids will miss their friends and this school has many wonderfully dedicated teachers. But after much prayer, we have come to the conclusion that this is not the best school for our children.

This is my sons second year at CCA and things were going great until this year when my sons mom and I entered into a custody battle. I am unsure of what she has told the school but they will not let me into the school, the principal refuses to meet with me, refuses to speak to my lawyer, they refuse to let me have lunch with my son and the school refuses to abide by the visitation order impeding my ability to see my son and be a dad and. I have never felt so much disappointment toward a school that does what they want to and refuses to follow the order. The school only contacts his mother if something happens to my son, they refuse to contact me. At this point it's time to take my son out of this school and send him to a school that does not take sides during a custody battle.
