We appreciate the partnership between parents and teachers. We feel our children are being taught well and challenged to think through what they are learning. We also appreciate the relationships the school fosters between students of different ages; for instance our 6th grader is challenged to mentor younger students, while herself being mentored by high schoolers.

I am greatly satisfied with the balance of academic excellence, family values, and faith fostered in this school. I've seen my children developing a positive growth mindset and sense of accountability. We have been a part of TRA for three years.

We love the school. Our family has been here for the past 10 years. The faith-based environment and the phenomenal teachers are our favorite parts. Worth the cost!

You cannot put a price on the care and output the teachers give teaching my children. They give so much. And they diligenty help my children get what they need to improve when they struggle. The curriculum is challenging, but it truly is good for my children to step up to the challenge, knowing they are loved. Can’t put a price on these teachers.

We have had the most amazing experience thus far at The River Academy. Our son is in 4th grade and is truly excited to go to school every day. We feel that he is never being left behind. They also ensure that he will meet or exceed the standards before moving on. They engage with us continually so we know where he is academically. Every teacher and staff member truly cares for and loves our child. Also, the children are taught how to respect one another. They do not speak unkindly and learn how to handle frustration or emotions in an appropriate way. It creates the best environment and it has been wonderful to watch and be apart of it. Our experience has been a phenomenal and our son is so happy to be at The River!

Teachers at TRA invest so much of their time and energy into the students. They go above and beyond their required duties. They genuinely care about each student and where they are with their faith, as well as pushing them academically. This is a Christ centered school, and the students are loved.

The school provides my child the challenge to expand learning that could never happen in public schools

The River Academy is a great school! It provides a solid liberal arts education within the framework of a Christian worldview---just what today's students need! Families are encouraged to partner with teachers and administration to form the educational support network for students. The school lives up to its goals of being joyful and relational as students are being trained up to be the next generation of Christian leaders.

There is a joyful, exciting, inspiring atmosphere for the staff and students at this school. Classical learning is the best way to learn. The subjects naturally flow together combining, overlapping and complimenting each other while being taught in ways that appeal to particular age levels. I am highly blessed by the songs these children sing to aid them in their learning. With very little encouragement a child begins singing and the whole class joins in. Before I know it, I've heard the sequence of events from the beginning of time to the present time in the most melodious way. It's like a whole new culture that is way more beautiful and intelligent than anything else out there.

Our son has been a secondary student at this school for three years. We are such fans. We are thrilled with the education he is receiving. This is a work hard, play hard type of environment. The curricula and work load are challenging. However, there is always something SO fun right around the corner. House activities on Fridays and larger events (Reformation Day, etc.) are a big part of this. I also love my son's fun-loving, spirited group of classmates/friends.Finally, I cannot speak highly enough about leadership at TRA. During the past 20 months of Covid stress and constant change, we have been kept in the loop about all decisions: what they are considering, why they've chosen to do this and not that, etc. The frequent, information, transparent communication has been refreshing compared to our experience with children at other schools. I trust the board, administrators, and teachers at this school.

Our children have been at this school for more than 5 years, and we have seen the school go through a transformation under the new leadership. In the past, there was an emphasis on exterior behavior and having the right answers, but in the past five years it has taken a new direction - still combining Classical Christian values (and academic excellence) with core relational and grace-based teaching. The students are HAPPY, silly, CREATIVE, competitive (in the best ways), SUPPORTIVE, and "inter-generational" (i.e. the bigger kids are role models for, and seek out the younger kids). One of TRA's strengths is the rapidly-disappearing emphasis on writing, grammar, and the ability to speak in public. This is not competitive, but rather woven into the fabric of the school so that it seems "normal" to get up and recite poetry, make a speech, debate a famous quote, or finish high school by giving a long persuasive speech to the whole student body. And there is lots of fun! - all-school ski days, costume days, feasts, ice skating days, etc. Our children are nurtured in the faith, and also taught appropriate ways to challenge and deepen their faith along the way. And did I mention that our younger children know a huge amount of Psalms by heart, due to singing them day after day? A life-giving school. Period.

Our family has been a part of The River for six years now. I am very involved in the school as a volunteer and have nothing but positive things to say about this school. The teachers are so full of grace in the way they interact with students, especially in discipline situations. I am so thankful there is a school like this in Wenatchee where so many loving people surround my children each day and they can be taught in the classical style. If you are not familiar with Classical Christian schools, I really would recommend looking into it. This is a very unique and wonderful school.

I want to start by saying that I follow the Lord and am a teacher myself (although not in WA anymore). I had a sibling and knew a few other students who attended this school when I lived in Wenatchee. The blather and discipline style taken by teachers and administration (in the instances I have witnessed) does not reflect Christian values. I do believe that the students are academically challenged and education is taken very seriously. But, at the same time I fear the school spends too much time trying to create the molded "Christian." The students need a broader perspective and to explore their faith and education with a more holistic approach. The students need to be challenged, not sheltered!
