As a grandparent who has grandchildren at this school, yes in 2012-2013 there were issues, but with a new leader, with great credentials and a current teacher at SMS I know it will prevail once again. My children went there and I was proud to say that they went to SMS. You have to believe in and be involved in your child's school, SMS has an open door for family. I'm pround to say my grandchildren go to SMS. God will bless the the leadership with what it takes to be a Blue Ribbon School again. No problem is solved over night, action was taken and the school is back on track. Read Mrs. McAfee's credentials and she has to love SMS to want to be involved with them.

School is struggling. Administration (principal and priest) is unorganized and in-effective. Teachers are good (but, a lot are not as "up-to-date" as should be expected). Money is not spent wisely.

Great "small town" atmosphere. Families with second and third generation involvement. Curriculum is well-rounded,up-to-date and challenging. Teachers are family friends as well as educators.
