I'm 72 years old now so I have a long history in this area relative to Wilson Scbool. My 83 year old brother, and all of us 6 children attended Wilson school long ago. I left there in tha 1950's. A quick review of the "WHO'S-WHO" in this city will reveal dozens of respected public officials, attorneys, doctos and business leaders in our community. I see many of them on T.V. as community leaders. I myself lead several businesses over my lifetime and have my kindergarten class picture from 1953 on display - with numerous notable local leaders in that class.Wilson School has been in this community a long time and grown through the past 50 or more years. The leaders it has turned out attests to the quality of it;s educators and curriculum. It remains in the hearts of our family as it has since 1942 when we moved across the street from it.

My daughter recently joined the Wilson family this school during her fourth grade year. I was initially hesitate to move her from a her previous school, where she knew everyone, but when the opportunity presented itself we jumped! I must add that my decision to move her was hard, but it has been by far the greatest educational move thus far. Her teacher, Mrs. Staub, is experienced, compassionate, and a great role-model. In addition to her being a cool and loving teacher, assignments/tasks are rigorous and provide realistic connections/relevance. Her principal, Mr. Heun, is effective and hands-on. He is never too busy to solve a problem or make the kids feel welcomed. My daughter regularly comes home and shares how the environment is fun and better than what she experienced previously. We couldn't be happier and our son, will join the Wilson Beehive family next school year!

My wife and I have three children at Wilson this year and have had nothing but excellent things to say about the staff and curriculum, year after year. We are simply amazed at how every teacher we've encountered has the talent and time to teach our children, and then individually assess their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. I'm shocked at the review about "blonde haired blue eyed" children receiving preference. Not the school I know. Suggest those parent(s) should look inward instead of pointing fingers?!

My daughter attended Kindergarten at Wilson, and initially I was pleased. As the year went on, however, it became clear that there was great disparity in the quality of the Kindergarten teachers. Amazingly enough, the 'bad' teacher had all the minority children, while the 'good' teacher had all the blonde haired, blue-eyed children. I mentioned this to the School Board and was told it was completely coincidental. Right.
