Born and raised in Waterloo, Currently 21. Went to Kittrell, Orange, Hoover middle, West High, Hawkeye CC, and currently University of Northern Iowa. West High school will more than prepare your child for their future. They offer a excellent education in whatever your child may seek interest in, as well as superb sports teams. They as well have a detached Career Center building where your child can earn college credits and save money in the process. Teachers are amazing and your child will love it. As my classmates and i did. Police officers keep the peace, multiple counselors and Principals so your children will always be heard. AP classes and more available.

This school doesn't support children being bullied, and ignores the major role of protecting kids from violence.

Teachers, administrators, or anyone else who works for west high is stuck up. I know that sounds over board but there are very few good teachers. If you get a class with a teacher for example like Mr. Young-Kent, Or Mr. Van Oort be very pleased. You can work as hard as you want and you either don't get the help you need or any attention at all. You know how this makes me feel as a student? Probably not but the only way I ever feel bullied is from teachers and administrators or even the counsellors at the school. I personally have a bad skipping problem; only reason for this is because I don't look forward going to class. I also am not one of the smarter kids, for the second year now (Am a junior right now) I have been trying to join Pbda, I know I deserve to be in it. This would be my only way to keep up with school and even to stop my skipping. Guess what? Every time I've tried to join Pbda I get rejected. No one knows how hard it is to go to school and see someone that is mentally smarter than me getting an easier way out than me!

Last year was our first year with my son as a sophomore. I was not impressed by conferences last year. We will see about this year. My son is a junior and says he does not like it. I feel like there are issues with the climate, safety, and overall tone at this school. This is my perception at this time.
