I had one or two issues. The teacher in the one year was great to addressing the concern and fixing the problem. The other teacher in the next year was not. The front office staff carries too much of the emotion of the teachers and then retaliation is on the child instead of addressing the parents. That in it self needs to be changed because at the end of the day it is about the children not adults.

This is my daughter first year of school. She is in Pre-k 3. I would think the focus will be on all children instead of a few. My experience with this school has been horrible from the beginning.I tried to mend things and be acceptive to their curriculum of things for the sake of my daughter, but things seem to get worse as the year passed by. The teachers/staff are very disrespectful and unprofessional. When it comes down to expressing My child's educational needs they are nonchalant with feed back and makes no effort to assist with my concerns. My daughter is in speech therapy and I have seen a little improvement with her since she started that! They have a lack of communication when it comes to report cards or daily reports.I should not have to always take intiative to figure out what is going on with my child. Smh! I would not ever in my life recommend this school to anyone:(

Patterson is a great school over all . This was my son's first year there. I love the principal Dr. Thomas. When there is a concern with myself or other parents she doesn't waste time getting the situation resolved. I had a major concern about my son's reading and once I took my concern to her she helped me my giving my son the help he needed as a first grader...

Pattereson elementary is a overcrowded elementary school. My sons have special education needs, whiich at the beginning of last year were met but now have dissapated into nothing. The principal/school leadership is Iffy would be best to describe them. Long office waits, no straight answers , unresolved issues, below par teachers, constant confusion. Special education program is non-existent, Some teachers do not have a grip of their classes. Hiring of substitutes that are not qualified for the specific grade. If a issue occurs in the school with your child no calls notifications or nothing. They do have a great auto-notification system when it comes to attendance. There are only two teachers that go above and beyond to help the kids but everyone else is just getting a paycheck at the expense of the childrens education. I will my children as soon as I find a suitable school.
