I would recommend Harmony to parents who are looking forward to their children getting a positive and engaging education. The teachers always respond to questions and concerns parents have and they give detailed reports on their students learning. Teachers always engage with the parents and take a lot of time out to care for the students. My son started out in Prek-4 and has flourished into kindergarten. He has been through a lot with this learning and the harmony staff were there for him the whole journey. My daughter who is in 4th grade has made it to Harmony’s honor society for excelling in her grades, this schools STEMs practices have made it possible for her to receive such an honor. Her teachers are very patient with her learning style and even let us know how she can improve. Both my son and daughter love coming to school. This school has checked off all of my concerns as a parent. Looking forward to many more school years with them.

My child has attended Harmony DC for the past 5 years. When starting kindergarten, she was a struggling reader. After exiting kindergarten she had become a flourishing reader and writer, still a work in progress. By the end of 2nd grade she was reading on a 4th grade level. I attributed most of her success to the school and teachers. My child's teachers set the bar high. She has become a studious student who is willing to take on new challenges of her own. While no school is perfect, I believe Harmony has fostered relationships with its parents to become a great school. This helps when dealing with issues as they arise. I have never been disrespected or felt unheard. Harmony is a small school which I like. It gives the parents, teachers, and faculty the ability to get to know each family by name, address issues effectively, as well as share new ideas. It has a since of community and that is important for us. They make us feel like we matter. The majority of the teachers my child has had in the past have been teachers with tenure that are well versed in the curriculum. It was crucial for us to have consistency and cohesiveness. Harmony is a STEM focused school and this is wonderful because the world is ever changing and it is imperative that children are knowledgable about technology in order to compete with others. Harmony offers that. While writing this review, it is also important to note that as a parent I expect the school to give her the tools needed for success, but I am also realistic, it is a priority for me to be just as involved and supportive of the school and her studies. I express my concerns in a respectable manner when needed, give praises when they are do, and offer help when I can. Schools can't be great schools on their own. They have to have the support of families, teachers, faculty and the community they serve.

I currently have 2 children in Harmony, as well as 2 that have graduated from Harmony. We have found our school home! The teachers and administrators at Harmony are dedicated, not just to the kids' education, but to their development and growth as individuals. When you send your child to Harmony DCPCS you are going to gain an entire community willing to help you fight whatever barriers exist that will hinder your child's ability to thrive! Class sizes are great, no one has to compete for time or attention with the teachers. Student discipline is addressed, not just punished. I am secure in the knowledge that my kids are safe and respected (as individuals) when they enter Harmony. But the #1 plus for me.... my children are excited to go to school EVERY day!

My twins love this school. I wish they had a middle school. The teachers really care and the kids really learn. This is one of the best schools in Washington Dc.

My experience has been great. My grandson loves Harmony. Effective communication with leadership ensuring parents are abreast of extra curricular activities, projects, early dismissals, and upcoming events are very helpful!

Harmony DC has been amazing. Mrs. Smith recruited my son and she made us feel welcomed. This is my son’s 1st year at Harmony. He is in Mrs. Pien’s 3rd-grade class. 3rd grade started out rocky as far as classroom management. Mrs. Wall, the Dean of Students, stepped right in to get feedback from parents and provided Mrs. Pien with support for managing her class. Ms. Moten was hired as a Teacher Assistant to support Mrs. Pien daily. The support from Mrs. Wall and Ms. Moten has helped 3rd grade to change drastically. Homework is sent home daily and graded work is provided to parents weekly. My son’s behavior and grades have improved so much. The calls and text messages have decreased. Harmony is doing a great job!

The rate is a A Because i have a 1st grader, and a 2nd grader and a 5th grader and they all good grades and my 1st grader has Achievement Honor Roll and my 2nd grader has Principal's Honor Roll and a 5th grader who has A-B Honor Roll and i like the school setting for my kids so again this is an Excellent school that i would recommend to anyone.

On a scale from 1-10, I give the school a 9. They have gone above and beyond to make school a place where my child wants to go everyday. They started free transportation and aftercare this year (2017), added foreign language, extra curricular activities and more opportunities for the parents to be more involved. It is a challenge for my son and that's what he needed. I really hope they are able to open a middle school soon.

I think that Harmony has room to grow but not with the current principal; Mr. Emin or Mr. Evren. They are solely focused on material things; STEM toys and gadgets that the kids never get to play with. The concerns that I and countless others have brought to their attention were brushed under the rug. I would not recommend this school to any parent. I would not send my kids to this school. It appears that the principal is mainly concerned about other things instead of ensuring that students are safe, school building up to code, having an actual nurse, and that students are receiving their services that are listed within their IEP's. Many assumed that this would be a great school due to the reviews based out of Texas. This school is nothing like the schools in Texas! Do yourself a favor and find another school for your child. Please be mindful that everything that glitter is not gold and just because it sparkles does not mean it is a diamond. I, and countless others, have learned that the hard way. Also...there is no school nurse. There is no way that you are able to hire someone as a secretary and tell them that they are now the school nurse. Mind you they are not an RN, LPN, they are not even a CNA. So if something medically happens the only thing the secretary is able to do is give them a band aid.

This was my first year with Harmony Pcs. My child attended 4th grade, and I must say I was impressed with the educators and their classroom strategies of connecting the world and the students interests to math, technology and science. The staff is also very welcoming and helpful in addressing all of my questions. I highly recommend thus school if your child is entering K to 5th grade.

Our school makes learning fun and exciting for students. Parents love having their kids at Harmony DC due to the family atmosphere and small learning environment. As a staff member I appreciate the enthusiastic attitudes of students and the supportive manner in which parents are involved at our school.

Harmony is a sweet little school. It is small and nurturing, but challenging. The teachers and staff are dedicated. The parent community is nice and supportive. If you go on one of their school tours, which I highly recommend, you will find happy kids highly engaged working together in small groups. Science and technology are integrated into the curriculum. Every child at the school does a science fair project and there's a robotics club that meets twice a week after school.

Harmony DC has been a "God send" to my family! I am a parent who believes in "fit" and this school is the right fit for my son. My son is in the 3rd grade and he has excelled in his classroom. He loves his teacher and the class size is small! The environment is nurturing and encouraging with structure and guidance. The teachers know all of the students names along with particulars about the family and the home. As a parent, I feel included in parts of the school decisions and that makes me feel welcome. My son is a part of the Robotics club and he loves it! Is challenging and fun and he looks forward to learning/play environment. I plan to my son stay at this school for a long time to come!!
