If your looking for individual attention and smaller class sizes, this school is highly recommend. It's nestled in a beautiful community. They include all abilities which is why the test scores may seem low. They don't exclude. I believe that's important on many levels. It teaches our children compassion as well as not leaving unique learners excluded. Great education from all three schools in Gananda! I would like to see more selection for my picky eater though.

What a wonderful warm and nurturing environment for children to feel safe and comfortable enough to learn in. Couldn't be more pleased with teachers and the staff!

This is an EXCELLENT school. I could not be more pleased with it. When my daughter started kindergarten last year, they eased the kids into the transition to a full day of school so well. On the first day, kindergarteners and their parents rode to school together on their own bus, stayed for an orientation, and then rode home together on the bus. How special to be able to experience that first bus ride and first time in the classroom with your child. It really helped put my mind at ease when she got on the bus alone the next day. Kindergarten and first grade have both been amazing. The teachers and staff are incredible, with a principal who is very hands on and present in every aspect of school life. I was concerned about "common core", but the school scheduled workshops for parents to explain what our kids would be learning, and to help teach us the new math. My daughter was reading - quite well - while still in kindergarten. I was shocked by how much she learned at such a young age. I was also thrilled, because she loved school so much and still does. I can't say enough about how wonderful this school is. They truly love their students and work very hard to give them the best experiences possible. They also communicate extremely well with parents. If something's going on at the school that I need to know about, I get both email and voicemail notifications immediately. You literally couldn't ask for more from a school.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this district. Honestly after reading the other reviews I wouldn't be surprised if the district rated themselves for positive feedback. Their enrollment is down and they would be doing children justice if the district crumbled. If your child requires any special education they will run you through hoops until you pack up and leave. The only reason this school may look good on paper is because they clearly aren't reporting the accurate statistical information and that's because they don't document. If you are considering paying the higher taxes here for "quality education" save your money move to Monroe county and put your child a private school.

Richard Mann Elementary has been a wonderful school for my children. I have been extremely satisfied with the teachers. The staff is incredible and have exceeded in meeting the needs of my children. There is extra support in every subject. My son's first grade teacher offered to come in early two mornings a week to give him the extra support he needed in reading, going above and beyond. The school has an amazing summer reading program that children k-3 grade can attend if the teachers find it fit for the student. Wonderful school district!

This school has more of a private school feel then public. They have high academic expectations. I can honestly say , along with my children there isn't one staff member not to love. The teacher's dedication is amazing and because of the small size they really get to know your child's strengths and weaknesses. I would strongly disagree with the comment made about kindergarten more at a preschool level, I was blown away at how much the children are expected to learn and do successfully learn by the end of the year. There are many staff members that not only live in the district but have children attending our schools as well and that speaks volume!

Kindergarten at Richard Mann is more of a preschool level so if your child is sharp and ready for Kindergarten, they will not benefit in the academics yet. Communication starts off great but then becomes difficult. We don't get the feeling that parents are welcome even though they try and portray that message. The facility is wonderful and has a great atmosphere. We do appreciate that the specials (P.E., music, etc) are an extension of what is being learned in the contained classroom.
